Wendy Kitty, White Hawk, Opera and Owls

400hearts

My cat, Wendy Moira Angela Darling, passed away in July of last year. On the evening of this past Easter Sunday, my mother comes up to me and says something I didn't expect.

She just saw Wendy Kitty.

Mom was sitting on the couch in the living room, and in the next room (her bedroom) she saw Wendy walking past. Mom swears it was Wendy, make no mistake. As always, I'm skeptical but I can tell that my mother is being very serious. If she says she saw Wendy, she did.

I haven't felt Wendy around me, which is surprising seeing how we were so close, but on the same night that Mom said she saw her... I had a dream.

There was some ridiculousness in the dream, which tells me it wasn't a visitation, but either way I wanted to type it up.

In the dream I was standing on a tall ladder near some windows. That area was a lot like the house we used to live in, with a gallery and really tall ceilings. (For a while, Wendy was always jumping up there from the bump-out by the stairs. I was always so petrified of her being up there, but eventually she stopped).

So I was standing on top of some ladder, to place a display or something up in the windows. (Just like we did every Christmastime). For some reason my brother was with me, and his hair was curlier than normal because it was longer than it usually is. He was on some other ladder to my right I guess, because he was next to me.

All of a sudden, and completely out of nowhere, I feel something soft brush up against my left arm. I had no clue what it could possibly be, seeing how I was so high up, but then I SAW what it was.

It was a cat. A really big gray cat. It's paws were pretty big for a house cat, and on its face the fur was pretty wavy and thick. It curled upwards.

I tried finding a picture online, to show what kind of cat I'm talking about. The closest I've come across are a few of those Tabby Manx....

Tabby-Manxcat

... or the La Perm cats.

Both of which I've never heard of.

In the dream it reminded me of those a little, but not exactly since I don't really remember this cat's fur being all that curly. I just remember the fur around the face being a little long, thick and wavy, and then it's paws and body being pretty big.

As I looked at this cat, I couldn't help but keep wondering if it was actually Wendy come back to me.

Anyway....

I still strongly believe this was just a regular, "wish fulfillment" sort of dream, but I've had enough precognitive dreams in my life to know the importance of writing them down even when you're not 100% positive that's what they are.

And as much as I still love and miss Wendy Kitty, I've vowed never to get any more animals. I'm through with that. I'm tired of mourning their loss when they're gone, and having pets make travel so much harder or just plain impossible. And I must confess that when it comes to cats, I am not a fan of the litter box and litter granules dropping all over the floors of the house.

Lord knows I loved my cats, but that kitty litter......

White Hawk

wthawk2

A few mornings ago I woke up for a bit, but then decided to go back to bed for a few more minutes. As I closed my eyes, all the while scratching my spoiled (and deservedly so) dog's belly, I started having a dream.

Well, to say it was a "vision" would probably be more accurate.

What I saw was the image of a white hawk soaring overhead. The sky was blue, and on it's wings there were the tiniest black markings. Overall, it was snowy white though.

Wendy Kitty Visits

1kitty

Dreamed about Wendy Kitty somewhere around a week ago. It was pretty simple.

I was walking out of the kitchen when there, in the foyer in front of the hutch, I saw her. (She was standing between the hutch and a cardboard box that was sitting on the floor). I was so thrilled that I could actually see her! (I guess I was able to pet her, too? I can't recall anything about that anymore). I only remember calling out to everyone that I could see her.

The strange thing though was her coloring. She was still a gray cat, but there was a yellow overtone to her. It was a sort of washed-over tint of a dirty yellow.

I have no idea what that was about.

FYI: It's pretty typical for me to have a dream like this after a pet has passed away. With pretty much every single pet I've ever had, I'll have a dream where all of a sudden I can see and pet them. It's as if they're solid and real again, but usually in these dreams I'm the only one that can see and feel them.

Singing Opera

This was a strange one. I was at some store with my family. I decided to separate from them, to browse the things that interested me. I told them I was going to look at the store's jewelry. (To get ideas from I think, to make my own).

While perusing the jewelry, I run into some woman. She's dressed in a fancy Victorian dress. It was strange because I was clearly browsing a store in modern times, yet this woman was from a past era. She recognized me, and sees me as some sort of celebrity.

And if that wasn't weird enough, how about this?

She asks me to sing "Che Gelida Manina" with her. (It's an aria from Puccini's opera, La Boheme. It's definitely my favorite). I'm uncomfortable saying yes to her request, but go along with it anyway.

While singing, I'm very self-conscious because I don't want my family to hear me from across the store. Still, despite my discomfort I sing my very best. I intended on singing only half of the aria, but can't go through with that. (OCD, anyone?) It felt wrong doing that, so I sing the entire song.

After we finished singing together, the woman talks to me again like I'm a celebrity. By this time I think there's someone standing next to her. What she says next is something completely out of left field.

She mentions that I was (or used to be in a past life) a knight!

Which is strange in and of itself, but because of this last part I HAD to write down this dream. (Because I've always suspected that Patrick was a knight of sorts).

Baby Owl

Had a quick dream last night. I was outside someplace, at some building. I think my mother was there, and then two strangers.

We saw the tiniest, cutest baby owl walking on the concrete slab. It was ADORABLE! We were wondering where it's family was, worried for it, but then it's mother and sibling appear suddenly.

For some reason we saw this happen twice, and I think it was two different owl families.

  1. Hello Kristin, thank you for visiting us. I wanted to comment on this post because I am really fond of the owl right now. It reminds me of daughter, who just got her Ph.D. I have always been fascinated by the wise old owl, What an delightful dream you had of the baby owl.

    Have a peaceful weekend.
