Pretty Countryside and a Magic Door

I had a dream last night that I owned this little Bed & Breakfast. My best friend from back in high school showed up in the middle of the night. As she’s walking out the door the next morning I grab the door, shut it, and confront her. I asked if she was here because she genuinely needed a place to stay overnight or if she was just using me.
I then notice that she doesn’t look the same. She’s suddenly very short, and I think African-American? She was very rude when answering me, so that was all I needed to know. I knew for certain now that she had traveled down the wrong road in her life and became a bitter, impolite individual. I opened the door and told her to leave.
The dream ended here, and I woke up with tears in my eyes. I found that really, really strange but I’ve done that before with other dreams. I don’t even have to be feeling any sadness at all, yet I’ll wake up with tears running down my face. I ignored this and went back to sleep.
I now have a new dream:
In this one I’m at some beautiful countryside someplace. It was GORGEOUS! I think I saw a rainbow (or more than one rainbow) over the hills that were off in the distance. (I think I dreamed this because I saw a similar picture like it on Pinterest the other day).
I glanced over my left shoulder, and to my amazement I see a beautiful, massive wooden door. It was arched and made of something like oak. It looked Gothic. I was absolutely in awe because it looked so magical just standing there in this gorgeous countryside. It was like something out of Narnia. (FYI: I’ve never really even seen those movies or read the books).

I now turn around and notice that children are playing everywhere. To my right there’s a large, fallen log and there are some kids sitting on it. I’m still pretty amazed at how beautiful this place is, but notice it’s getting very dark. A storm is rolling in and I think night was starting to fall. I know this is going to be a BAD and very dangerous storm, so I shout for all the children to run home now.
I become frustrated because I wasn’t sure they could all hear me, so I clear my throat and attempt to shout even louder. There was just no way I was going to leave until I knew these kids were running back to the safety of their homes before the storm hit.
It now is so dark outside that I can hardly see anything. I realize that the kids were all rushing to their homes now, so I turn back towards where that magical-looking door was and decide to return to the safety of home myself.
The next thing I know, I’m continuing my previous dream with the bed & breakfast:
I’m still upset over what happened with my ex best friend, so I decide to just move past it. I was just happy to know the truth about her. I decided to snap myself out of it by visiting an old friend.
This friend of mine is like a father figure to me. As I walk towards wherever he is during that time of day, my eyes are fixed on the ground as I’m thinking. Either I was thinking to myself that I DID tell my ex best friend that the bed & breakfast was owned by me, or that I wish I HAD told her. I just remember making a sweeping gesture with my hand, saying “This is mine. This is all mine.” (Meaning the bed & breakfast/small hotel and the surrounding property). All I know is I was proud of it and belonged there.
I continue to walk up this grassy area which curved towards the right. The left side of it was ‘bordered’ by concrete like a sidewalk. (Really, it was like how it is by a bridge over a highway; you know, a grassy area that slopes). I remember thinking in my dream how my property is in a nice location because it sits on quiet, beautiful countryside but is also really close to town.
As I continue walking up this incline, I walk alongside the edge. I remember thinking that I used to do that as a child, even though it was frightening, but that my father figure friend was always telling me not to do that because I could fall and get hurt.
When I reach the top of this hill/incline, I see an old pickup truck. There’s a big black dog resting in the back/tailgate. I think he’s a Labrador. I start petting and talking to him. His name is “Gus.”

My old friend/father figure shows up and we talk. I can’t remember what we spoke about.
The next part of the dream is just silliness. I’m back at my little bed & breakfast and Harry Connick Jr. is there. Lol! He was packing up his stuff to leave and was very funny. (I also vaguely recall a previous part of my dream where we’re ‘racing’ on something with wheels. We’re racing down some hallway to an elevator. We were just having some little competition just for the fun of it).
Next, I have a third dream:
This dream was like watching a movie up close and personal. I saw countryside, similar to my other dream with the door/portal. There were two girls standing there, talking. One had blonde hair pulled up in a bun. The other had long dark black hair that was down. I think it was wavy. It was VERY windy, so their hair was pretty unkempt. The blonde had a pink shawl draped over her shoulders. Both girls wore normal dresses like you’d see in Edwardian times. Nothing fancy. The girl with the dark black hair was very pregnant, and her friend was very excited for her.
Actually, she was giddy but also very sad for her (pregnant) friend because when she saw a young man walking up the hill towards them… she knew he was about to propose to her friend. I then notice in my dream that the blonde girl was pretty but that she had bad teeth. (Because they were poor).
I believe these girls had Irish accents?

Sing a Song

My dream last night was so ridiculous.
I was standing on a porch, thumbing through some scrapbook paper of all things to place on the insides of a small cabinet. (I remember one of the papers I thought of using was chocolate brown and had an illustration, penciled in white, of a few owls on a branch or something).
To my right there was a man that just arrived. A neighbor or something. He was walking the field (inside tall brown grass) and I’m not sure I even knew him.
In this dream, as I was working, I was singing to myself. I was singing that silly country song from the movie “Michael.” (You know, the one with John Travolta as the Archangel Michael). I remember my dream-self hoping the man that was walking a few yards away didn’t hear me singing such a silly song.
PS – I just realized that I think I know why I dreamed this. I think that last night on Facebook someone mentioned the Archangel Michael. I can’t recall why they mentioned him. I’m not even into angels or anything like that. (I’m openminded about that stuff, but I’m also very skeptical). Also, someone posted a photo of the little front porch to their new house in the country. I think it’s fairly plausible to say that that is where the front porch in my dream comes in, too.
It’s amazing what the subconscious can recall while your conscious mind completely forgets.

Two Elephants

One of my dreams last night was about two elephants.
A large elephant I somehow managed to sling over my back, and then there was a baby elephant. The baby elephant I held on to with my right hand.
All I could find in a dream dictionary about elephants was this:
To see an elephant in your dream indicates that you need to be more patient or more understanding of others. Or perhaps there is a memory that you are holding on to for too long. You need to let go of the past. The elephant is also a symbol of power, strength, faithfulness and intellect. Alternatively, the elephant's introverted personality may be a reflection of your own personality.
The elephant is the symbol of the United States Republican party. Perhaps you are sharing the same views as the Republican party.
And againMay 9, 2011

Why do I still do this? My niece and nephew moved to Austin around 12 years ago. My niece was only 3 years old at the time, and her brother 4 or barely 5. Scouts Honor, I finally 'got over it' somewhere around 3 years ago.
And yet I guess that, subconsciously, I'm lying to myself because I had another one of those old dreams this morning.
I'm speaking of one of those dreams about the kids, where one or both of them are little children again.
In this latest dream, my nephew was probably a little younger than he is now, but still a teenager. My niece was the same age too... until I hugged her.
When I hugged her, she felt so tiny! Small boned and fragile, like a little kid. I just hugged her and hugged her, trying not to let her or her brother know that I was crying my eyes out.
Then I woke up, and surprise surprise... drowning in tears. I hate dreams like this! The feelings in them are so intense that you literally wake from the dream with tears streaming down your face.
There was one strange element in this dream though. In it, they had a brother that I had never met. He and Luke were always picking on each other, as normal siblings do, and I felt really bad that I never knew this other kid. I actually remember apologizing to him for not knowing him as I do Luke and Autumn... considering how I was a part of their lives from the time they were newborns... yet I didn't know him at all.
Anyway, I'm not a fan of these types of dreams. They do crop up on me from time to time. ALWAYS do they involve either the kids, or pets that have passed on. I guess I just repress a lot of my emotions in my daily life, so sometimes they escape in my dreams.

This is odd. A couple nights ago I came downstairs to check on one of our cats. The light woke Mom up, and after lifting the pet gate to let her inside the laundry room, I saw a huge spider. I went inside her closet, hunting for a shoe to squash it to Kingdom Come, when she told me that the second she woke up she realized she had just had a stupid dream.
It was a dream where her mother's husband gave her mother a SPIDER ring.

Lady at Desk3-23-11
This wasn't a dream, but have you ever gone to bed - trying to go to sleep - and out of nowhere you get an image in your mind's eye?
A lot of times it's just faces morphing one into the other, but last night it was a still picture that lasted several seconds.
I saw a woman sitting at a desk. Her hair was blonde and pulled back in a low ponytail. Her hair was kinda short, parted right down the center and hanging loose against her face. Her hair was small ringlets. Very pretty. She also wore black glasses. On the desk and to her left was a small vase of flowers. That was the only thing on the desk. No clutter at all... which would be the total opposite of any desks at our house. Lol! I'm not positive anymore, but I think she wore a white dress shirt and black slacks.
I've no idea why this scene popped into my head, but from now on I'm going to type these experiences up.

Chickadees & Canary’s, Oh My!3-3-11 Last night I had another nightmare about my little canary (Westley) that passed several years ago, and then a lot of just plain strange dreams I can only recall bits and pieces of.
In one, there were little baby chickadees everywhere! I don't know why, but we were in the garage. There was a hole at the side of our recycling bin, and they all scampered through it and to the other side. I was petrified of Wendy Kitty catching one of the little guys.

Dream #1:♪ "A Dragon, a dragon. I swear I saw a dragon!" ♬

(Via)
Three or four nights ago I had an interesting dream. I can't recall all of it, but here's what I do remember:
I was looking up at the night sky, and I saw a pattern in the stars. Some of the stars were red and they formed the shape of a dragon. (It was sort of like looking at a Lite-Brite picture in the sky).
Here's what a dream dictionary said about dragons:
"In the eastern cultures, dragons are seen as spiritual creatures symbolizing good luck and fortune."

What I find interesting is that someone informed me that there is an actual dragon constellation! It's called Draco. Neat, huh?
I was also told that red is a power color.

Dream #2:Who you calling old?!
Two nights ago I had the silliest dream. (Well, not 'Silly-ha-ha' but kinda stupid).
All that I can remember is some stranger receiving an evp on her tape recorder. In the background of this tape, I heard Patrick's voice clear as day. It was so recognizable that I didn't even have to use headphones to listen to it.
What was odd was that accompanying his voice was some soft, medieval-type music. What he said was really silly, and in my dream I was CREEPED OUT when I heard his voice! We're talking getting the chills and feeling frightened out of my mind, but after I thought hard about what he was actually saying... I calmed down because I realized it was just a stupid evp.
What he said, along with the music that was playing, was ---
"I can hardly stand it.
These lonely old hens.
I am not happy."
Okay, you can laugh now.
And I kind of hope this was just a stupid dream I concocted myself because come on... lonely OLD hens? OLD?! OLD?! Thanks a lot.
But I can forgive being called a "hen," and that one word (and the music) is really the only reason I'm typing this dream up at all; seeing how that was a common term back then for a young lady.
As found in the dictionary online:
"dialect (Scot) a term of address (often affectionate), used to women & girls." If this wasn't just some random dream, I can only assume he's speaking about Mom and I. It is just the two of us living here now, and we really are all alone these days. (Dad is working out of state and this week we've been incredibly busy getting the house ready to put on the market. The real estate agent came by only yesterday, and our plan is to move up to Austin where the kids and the rest of our family are).
I guess Patrick just doesn't like watching we two girls - I mean "hens" - living alone with no family around?
Or maybe this was just a random dream. I honestly don't know.

Scratch Off Tickets2-8-11
I had another dream about scratch off tickets last night. I bought around 10 tickets, but something like 60 or 100 of them spewed out of the machine!
I was so embarrassed because people were watching, and it was an honest mistake. The machine just went crazy and I was stuck there trying to decide which tickets to take that I had actually paid for.
I didn't want everyone to see what was going on, but in the back of my mind I was thinking to just take all the tickets anyway. I mean, it was the machine that screwed up and not me. Lol!

Ghosts AgainFeb 2011

- Had a strange, yet disturbing dream the other night. I was with some of my family in an antique store, and my father was really ill. He felt so bad that he just laid down on the floor right there in the store. (It was some little room off to the side). He was so sick he was sweating, but at the same time he and everyone else acted like he wasn't really as sick as he was.
Next, I'm at some house with a few people. My sister and Mom were there with me, but there were also a couple of other people that I didn't really know. This place we were in was haunted.
And I mean really haunted. I've had my share of dreams about ghosts - A LOT of dreams actually - but in this one I was haunted by at least two spirits. They were not friendly, either.
What I'm about to say will sound silly, but while dreaming it... NOT SILLY! What I'm speaking of is one part of this dream where my hair (I think it was in a ponytail), and then everyone else's hair was FLOATING up from our scalps. There was some kind of electrical force with the ghosts doing it. The room was just drowning in their energy. It was very overwhelming.
Finally, I had had enough. Even though I was petrified to speak up, I started yelling at them. (I was shocked when even my sister - who has definitely communicated with spirits before - wouldn't even speak to these particular spirits). All I remember is telling them that we know they're here, but that it was time for them to move on. I told them that I didn't know if they knew it, but they were dead and had to leave and I wouldn't take no for an answer. They simply HAD to GET OUT!
I know... typical ghost stuff, but the tone of the dream was so frightening.
That's all I remember, because then I woke up. It was a really unpleasant dream. It was so unpleasant that I had the insane thought that maybe I wasn't even alone in my room just then. I even thought to myself that Dad left his K2 meter here before he moved, and if I turned it on... would it go berserk or what?
I didn't want to know the answer to that question, so I just tried my darndest to get back to sleep. Bravery when it relates to the paranormal can be overrated.
Just a funny FYI - My mom just opened the back door, not knowing it was starting to storm, so when that first BIG lightning strike came she thought someone was taking her picture. Lol!
It's too bad it wasn't Publishers Clearinghouse.

Stonehenge1-24-11

(Via)
Last night my dreams were pretty much the mundane, not-so-exciting kind. Forgettable actually, except for one part which stood out enough to write down, and which was similar to another dream I‘ve had.
What stood out in this dream was seeing Stonehenge. Yep, STONEHENGE!
I am in no way even remotely interested in Stonehenge. When I think of it, do you know what first comes to my mind? How about Chevy Chase, in "National Lampoon's European Vacation," totally wrecking the landmark with his car?
But in this dream last night I was surrounded by students - (I was probably 14 or 15 in this dream) - and being as quiet and shy as I was, I interrupted the teacher to comment on the view I was seeing outside in the distance.
Through a small opening in the room I was in (it was like a small rock building and the window was just a square hole in the wall), I saw a section of Stonehenge. It was just one of the pillars on the edge, and above it the sky was really pretty. The sun was setting, and there were some bright pink clouds above the pillar.
I told this teacher that that was the most gorgeous sight I'd ever seen in my entire life... but apparently this teacher didn't give a snit what I thought. She just continued with her lessons. (They were really stupid by the way, only I can't remember what they were about).
I looked up "Stonehenge" in the dream dictionary, and it said what I thought it would:
"To see Stonehenge in your dream, suggests that you are undergoing some spiritual enlightenment. Light has been shed on something that was once confusing. Alternatively, the dream is symbolic of a mysterious and powerful force."
Whatever the meaning, I just think it's a little odd that twice now I've dreamed of historical landmarks that had this spiritual vibe to them.
And even though the building I was in was similar to a cave, and there was no glass in that little window or even a door... it definitely felt like modern day to me. There were electric lights and everything, so it wasn't like it was a past life dream. (Which I haven't had in a loooong time).

A Little Blond BoyJan 11, 2011
Decluttering the house this week, I found my old High School stuff and mixed in were a couple dreams which I wrote down.
I didn't know it at the time, but now I think those dreams are Patrick-related. (It's a good thing I wrote them down because I had completely forgotten about them... which is strange because after I read them I remembered them VIVIDLY).
First Dream: This one was dated August 9, 1994. I wrote a short description of it, then a few years later wrote a longer description because I just couldn't get it out of my head. Below, I'll type up the more detailed description.
Note: Keep in mind that oftentimes Patrick would come to me in a dream incognito. Back in those days, the only celebrity I liked was NKOTB member Jordan Knight - and yes, I find the "knight" reference pretty coincidental and kinda humorous - so I can see why he might come as him. (I think I might have one other "Jordan/Patrick" dream written down on this site as well).
But here's the dream I found earlier this week. I'm going to copy/paste it word for word -
A few years ago I had one of the most beautiful dreams, and of Jordan Knight actually. I think his clothing was all black, and he was standing near the formal living room window. We were outside in the backyard. I was away from him, probably by about 6 feet. It was a beautiful, sunny day and the wind was blowing the trees around. There were flowers everywhere, and I could see a lady bending over to pick some beneath the window. She wore a flowing white dress and large hat, similar to that needlepoint picture we had on the wall in the living room above the couch.
A little boy with blond hair (about 1 1/2 to 2 years old) was running through the yard with a bubble wand. He's in front of me, where the patio would be, and he was having so much fun!
I watched him playing with those bubbles, and then I saw Jordan just gazing at me with this little smile. I looked back at him and smiled some, too. We just stared at each other, but said nothing. We didn't have to. We were so happy and so much in love that words literally couldn't express our feelings for each other.
I had this dream before Luke (my nephew) was born... he was born 3-2-95; one year after this dream... and now that I look back on it I'm beginning to wonder if this little boy was LUKE! The boy in this dream looked EXACTLY like Luke did at that age; even down to the hair. (Luke's hair was very blond as a toddler).
EVERYTHING in this dream was so beautiful. The grass and trees were a beautiful green, and it was so quiet. All you could hear was the wind blowing through the trees. The look, and most especially the FEEL of this dream was so wonderful. It was exactly what Heaven must feel like.
And "Jordan"... (yes, the quotes are there for a reason)... and I were soul mates, for a fact, in this dream. I don't believe I will EVER feel that way about a man in my life, EVER. It was just so beautiful. It was a short dream, which felt like... well, destiny and that we were fated to be together. It was also as if he and I felt that we were married.
Second Dream:(This one was dated November 23, 1994)
Jordan is in our living room, and I'm not really sure if he could see me. I was following him, and then I sat down.
So did he.
Later, Jordan stood up and he was carrying a little boy with light brown hair. It was the same boy as in another dream I've had before.
Third Dream:(This dream doesn't belong to me... which makes it really STRANGE)
I came across a note from one of my friends in high school - written back in 1991 or 1992 - and in it she mentioned having a dream that she and I were pregnant at the same time. She said Jordan was in the dream, and he and I already had a child.... a little BOY that was BLOND! (And um, Jordan had very dark hair and Patrick... well, can ye say BLOND? Lol!)
I find that so incredibly weird and strangely coincidental, seeing how years later I had two dreams about the same boy. (And it's not like I remembered her telling me about her dream. My friends and I wrote each other all the time, so it was easy to forget a note from last week, let alone years before).
I don't know what the deal is with this little boy appearing in those dreams, but a THEORY is that it's relevant with Patrick somehow. I have a few theories, but that's all they are. I'm not saying I believe it's the truth. I have to be open minded and skeptical.
And this is interesting, but when my nephew was little one of his favorite things to play with was BUBBLES. I even have an aunt that used to give him and his sister bubbles whenever she saw them.
One other thing - Back in those days I wasn't even trying to figure out who Patrick was. I didn't know his name or anything. I only knew him as "that ghost" or "that knight" which I saw when I was a little girl. (He was fixing the bed covers at my feet). I knew zippo about him, so thinking he was actually Jordan (or whomever) in disguise in a dream never crossed my mind until over a decade later. Eventually, the puzzle pieces/theory just started coming together.

Irish?1-10-11

This dream was from a few weeks ago.
I was angry with someone - my sister I think - and then suddenly I become very aware that I'm yelling with an IRISH accent.
I wasn't Irish, so of course I was really self-conscious about what was happening. The next thing I remember is forcing myself to speak normally... with my (slight?) Texas accent. ;o)
FYI - I've always wanted to have an Irish accent, and when I first started writing it was really difficult for me to write female characters without an Irish accent. (I've always found that strange, especially since it's always just the women I would hear with that particular accent).
UPDATE:
Look at what I found, and quite by accident, on Pinterest.

Should I be worried?
Is it still a brain disorder if it only happens inside a dream?

Fire and waterJan 2011
Well, lets see... a PENGUIN was in my first dream. (Can't say I've ever dreamed about a penguin before. I dream about animals all the time though).
I read this in a dream dictionary:
To see a penguin in your dream signifies that your problems are not as serious as you may think. It serves as a reminder for you to keep your cool and remain level-headed. Alternatively, seeing a penguin in your dream suggests that you are being weighed down by your emotions or by a negative situation. You need to find some balance and inner harmony.
My second dream was also strange. The first part I can barely recall, but I remember Wendy Kitty being in it, as well as a lot of stray kittens.
We were in some backyard, and I leaned over a fence to look over the top. What I saw was some little tree or bush, and beneath it was rolling fire. I could see the flames licking the bottom of the tree and the grass. I never panicked though because the yard was a little flooded, so the fire was continuously being doused.
The dream dictionary said this:
Depending on the context of your dream, to see fire in your dream can symbolize destruction, passion, desire, illumination, purification, transformation, enlightenment, or anger. It may suggest that something old is passing and something new is entering into your life. Your thoughts and views are changing. In particular, if the fire is under control or contained in one area, then it is a metaphor of your own internal fire and inner transformation. The dream may be a metaphor for someone who is "fiery". It represents your drive, motivation, and creative energy.

Recollections / Come Back To MeJan 2011

This Nonsensical dream was brought to you by Doctor Who....
I never bother writing down my dreams which are just stupid dreams, but I might change that this year.
Okay, total nonsense was this dream. I had a baby and I was still rather young; probably a senior in High School. My baby was a little girl, and she would cry when anyone other than myself held her. I was really protective of her.
I remember speaking to the father outside of a high school. He was working on something; handyman-type stuff. I was bossing him around about my cat, Wendy. I kept stressing to him, over and over again, that he had better make sure Wendy gets home safely because I'm petrified of her getting out of the building. I was just so adamant about him listening to me, because for some reason I really didn't trust him. (I think it was just because I was overprotective of Wendy. I only wanted her to be safe). I then leave, only to return seconds later to give him a kiss and apologize for being so bossy.
Now the dream gets weird... for the first time anyway, as it gets stranger every moment now. His reply was something about Scotland. He told me that not everyone is like me and is crazy about men in kilts. Lol!
Next thing I know, I'm in some hallway at school and there's this rack of what looks like greeting cards. Suddenly, the 9th doctor from Doctor Who (Christopher Eccleston) is in it. I'm not sure if he was the same man from earlier, or another guy. All I know is he was a teacher of some kind, and that I had remembered that I hadn't attended classes in a while and had no clue where they were or what time I had to go to each one. (I have that scenario in my dreams a lot. I think a lot of people have that dream).
He told me that he had changed his classes around since I'd been there last.
Again.... the dream gets weird and plain stupid yet again. There was a class of his that was named "Recollections," but he changed it. I saw the new name for this class on a greeting card of all things. It was solid black, and in white block lettering were the words "Come Back To Me." (Yes, that phrase again).
And um..... also scattered throughout this dream was an obsession of mine in waking like. Naturally, what I'm speaking of is Starbucks. (I was holding my child, and expecting someone to pick me up from school. I kept thinking that if I really hurried, I just might find the time to stop in the Starbucks for a frappuccino).
There was more in this dream, but I can't remember any of it just now. (I only hope my dream self got her Starbucks).
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Animals everywhere!
The night before, my strange dream was me riding in the car with my parents. To my astonishment, all kinds of animals had just taken over all the countryside and roads.
I was so afraid of them getting run over, but they didn't seem afraid at all. They were just lazing about the middle of the road... walking across the road together... hanging out along the sides of the road. I mean, they were EVERYWHERE and there were so many of them.
October 2007
I honestly think these were just regular dreams, but I’ll write them down anyway since it was a Neil/Christy dream. (Patrick often shows up in my dreams as Neil).

Dream #1
I was dreaming about the Christy series, only this was a new one with the same actors. It was a “darker” Christy tv series; and one I’ve dreamt about a few times before. The scenery in this series/these dreams is always very wooded. In this dream - just like always – Dr. MacNeill was his usual bear self, only he really cared for Christy and was protecting her without her knowing it.
In this dream he was inside some dark, candlelit cabin with Christy and some old couple. He told Christy to go someplace to get something for him; something to help with his doctoring. After she left, Neil immediately laid down in the bed and allowed the old lady to spoon feed him a bowl of broth. It was then that I understood he had completely hidden from Christy the fact that he was dying.
Dream #2
I was combing my wet hair in the bathroom mirror at our old house when my brother stood behind me. He was a young boy again; around 8 or 9 years old I guess. He told me, “He loves you.” When I asked “Who?” he told me – “You are him.” I immediately understood what that meant. That Patrick really is my twin. In this dream I immediately hugged my little brother, telling him with the biggest smile that I'll love him forever for telling me this.
~*~*~*~*~*~
The other day I was feeling a little down...

When trying to fall asleep that night, I had a picture of two rabbits inside my head. They were side-by-side nibbling on a cabbage. They were white with light tan (almost gray) spots near their necks. Since it popped into my head like that, maybe that was Patrick’s way of trying to cheer me up. (B/c I've been told that in my (alleged) past life with him I loved bunnies).
~*~*~*~*~*~
Sunrise Dream

Not sure this is anything, but in part of my dream last night I saw purple flowers again. Also, some medium lady in my dream said that Patrick told her that “Dawn is sad.” (Dawn, as in sunrise).

MARGARET, again!!!
October 10, 2007

I have no idea what this dream is trying to tell me. I’m typing it up though because – once again – a “Margaret” was involved. WHAT is the deal with that name?! Who the heck is Margaret?! (I really believe “Margaret” is/was related to Patrick somehow. She shows up in a lot of my dreams with him).
But here’s my dream from last night:
There’s a big gathering at some house and the burners on the stove keep turning on by themselves full blast. I mean, just out of nowhere they turn on. I’m always the one that notices them turned on, and then I turn them off. When everyone is leaving the party, a lot of us are standing inside some room like a foyer. I finally let it known that this house is haunted. One of the men there tells me I should ignore it b/c it could be evil. But I disagree with him. I’m frightened, but at the same time I tell him how I know from experience that that isn’t always the case. Some spirits do have good intentions and are in no way evil.
The house is pitch black inside now, as everyone was leaving. I decided to go inside by myself to make certain that blasted stove hadn’t been turned on yet again. I walk inside the house – which is completely cast in darkness now – and see that the stove is turned on again. I’m frightened at the thought of going in there all by myself to turn it off, but I have no choice. I didn’t want the house to burn down or for people to get hurt or worse. After my first step away from the door and toward the stove, the belt of my robe is pulled by an invisible force; the ghost. The end of it wraps around the doorknob, preventing me from walking toward the stove to turn the burners off for the millionth time.
Next thing I recall it’s still nighttime but I’m at this house again. Some kids are trying to fall asleep in the main room. Two boys – whom I think are the same age – and a young girl. Oddly enough, the girl is Julianne. (Julie is my cousin). Only, in this dream my cousin is much younger. (She’s in her early 20’s in real life). But what’s weird is that in that ‘staring into my soul’ dream with Patrick a while back, Julie was in that one as well. She was also younger in that dream than she really is in real life.
Anyway, the kids are trying to go to sleep but there’s construction going on outside the house. There’s a lot of hammering going on outside, but when a hailstorm hits the crew immediately leaves.
It’s finally quiet, and the little girl tells me she has a bad headache. She said she took something for it earlier, but that it’s still there. I feel her forehead and she’s burning up and sweating like crazy. It really frightened me, and I didn’t want anything bad to happen to her, so I go to my mother in the next room. She’s just curled up on the bed with dad. They’re not speaking. Just lying there. I tell Mom about Julie, and she gets up and gives her some baby aspirin or something. I was really worried about the little girl. I was terrified that this fever she had was going to kill her. When I go back to Mom’s room, there’s something like a fire pit/stove in there. Once again, I notice that the burners are turned on. A little annoyed, I turn them off.
Next, we’re all in the main room again. I realize the smoke alarm is glowing red and is about to go off. I tell dad, so he takes out the batteries before the house alarm sounds off. Again, that damn stove’s burners are lit. Then everything goes CRAZY. CD’s, etc. literally flying off the shelves. The two boys from earlier are with us, and I don’t want them to be scared or hurt so I try to shield them from all the flying objects and remain calm so they won’t panic. But… I think they were sort of enjoying it all. They weren’t frightened of this ghost at all. Since things are soooo very much out of control now, I tell this lady ghost – out loud – that I’m impressed by how strong her powers are now but that she needed to leave us in peace. I told her not to worry because she won’t be forgotten and that I will share her story with people. After I said that, all the commotion came to a perfect standstill.
Somewhere in this dream it’s daytime now and Julie is being put into a car seat. She’s even younger now I think, and her mother (or whoever it was) is the one putting her in the car. The woman doesn’t speak to us. Watching her, I know that they’ll be driving to our house because Julie was going to stay with us. I guessed that I wouldn’t be riding in the car with them to our house because there wasn’t enough room. (Not sure though, as it was only two people in that car).
Now comes the end of the dream, which is just weird. Some man comes up to me. He’s wearing slacks, a dress shirt and I think a tie. He tells me he’s going to introduce the ghost to me now. He literally says – and don’t laugh – “Quasimodo.” I look down and there’s a little person there. She’s trying not to look at me. I was shocked that all that time my fright over this ghost was really nothing but this non-threatening dwarf-like lady. She acted ashamed of what she did.
Somewhere in this dream I was also watching someone graduating. I was watching them from a distance. Behind a couple of very little trees I think. An airplane was flying overhead, too, I think.

Books and Roses
September 12, 2007

This is just one snippet from a very long dream....
I was given red roses by a man. I barely knew him, but I think we had just started dating? He sent me (not in person) red roses, and I think some books? I remember seeing tarot cards as well.
The books he sent really surprised me because I remember thinking to myself how very much this stranger knows my tastes. He sent titles like Shakespeare, and I think a couple of travel books? (Just had the thought that Elaine in my story is fond of Shakespeare. Emily is, too. Myself in my waking life... not into Shakespeare).
Dream Dictionary –
To see roses blooming in your dream, signifies faithfulness in love and the arrival of a much joyous occasion. Roses also symbolize love, passion, femininity, and romance, particularly if they are red roses.
To see books in your dream, indicates calmness. You will advance toward your goals at a slow and steady pace. Books also symbolize knowledge, intellect, information and wisdom. Consider the type of book. It may represent a significant calling into a specific field of work.
To dream of a tarot reading, indicates your current situation
and state of mind. You are open to exploring your unconscious thoughts and feelings. Pay attention to what the Tarot Cards revealed.

Dream about a Spirit

I was in my bed, and there at the end of the bed is a male spirit sort of hovering. (Indian style, I think). He had short black hair and there was an aura with VIVID COLORS surrounding him. Gold, orange, red, etc. Very vivid and bright. Incredibly vivid. In this dream he kept asking me if I loved him. But the entire time, when I answered that – “Yes, I love you. You know that” – I knew the whole time that I was basically humoring him; saying that just so that he would leave. He kept asking me – over and over again – if I really loved him. It was bordering on pestering even.
This spirit was definitely not Patrick.
Not because of the black hair, but b/c when Patrick comes to me in my dreams (even in disguise) the EMOTIONS coming from both sides are equal and very strong, and in this dream my feelings vs this spirit’s feelings were in no way equal. Also, Patrick never speaks in my dreams. He communicates more telepathically. And besides.... these days I pretty much instantly recognize Patrick in a dream. His energy and our feelings are always the same.
I didn’t receive a guardian angel/spirit guide vibe with this spirit either. (They wouldn't ask a question like that anyway). I don’t know if this dream was a visitation, a nothing dream, or a dream echoing something in my waking life. I have absolutely no idea. It was just strange. I mean, I’ve dreamt about spirits before, but this was different. Very out of the ordinary. I really didn't receive a very good vibe with this dream. Not horrible, but annoying.
Update - Found this in a dream dictionary:
To see an aura around you or someone else, suggests that some important information is being relayed to you in the dream and you need to pay close attention to the message. You need to draw on this energy for strength.

Two Lady Spirits

This dream was really silly. I was at my grandma's old house I think, and it was haunted by two elderly lady spirits. They were Victorian I think, and very sweet and funny. They were even considerate of my fright at discovering them. These two ladies hid themselves inside their own rooms until I gave them permission to come out. Lol! When I had finally calmed and instructed that they could come out now, I could hear them giggling like giddy schoolgirls as they left their rooms. They really were two sweet old ladies; only in their spirit form.

Message on Mirror

Had a dream last night that I’ve been brushing off. I’m only writing it down now b/c Mom found it interesting. In this dream I just finished taking a bath when I saw on the fogged up mirror, the words “I Love You.” I opened the door and shouted for Mom to come up and see, all the while hoping the words would stay there so Mom could see. I remember watching the sentence slowly fading away, word-by-word before Mom arrived. When Mom reached the bathroom, the words completely disappeared. I’m now wondering… a day later… if there was a reason for that. Did the words disappear before Mom could see them to send me a message that Patrick is for ME and not Mom or my sister? His words were only for ME to see?
(I STILL can’t help myself when it comes to being open to the idea that he’s for my sister or mother, and that all my dreams and 27 years of experiences are a fluke).

House inside a hill

(Via)
While watching "Tristan & Isolde" tonight I realized that there's another dream that I had a couple months back. I now think I should have written it down back then.
The feel of the dream was very happy. I was inside some pitch black dark place… so dark you couldn‘t see a thing… then lifted this flap which led to the outside. This flap was in fact the door, and I think it was the hide of an animal.
I look around and I’m facing very green hills scattered with people and children running about. I think I even remember seeing a couple of boys playing and running with some kind of red fabric trailing behind them. It was like a wind sock or something similar. (I think the little boy had curly brown hair). We were on a cliff face which was very, very high up. Incredibly high up.
There were other houses like this all over these hills, fairly close together. I mean everywhere. It was sunny and the landscape was vast. Very beautiful. These were quite literally homes dug inside the hillside.
It was an entire community, and everyone seemed so happy! We didn’t exactly have riches, but we didn’t need riches because we were all together. It felt like that day, or just everyday in general, felt like a holiday or celebration of some sort. I cannot express enough how positive an environment this community was.
You would think it’d be depressing living in such a cold, dark place - a home literally carved inside the earth - but it wasn’t like that at all because of THE PEOPLE living there alongside me.

Ireland and a story

In the first part of this dream I'm running outside in Ireland. The scenery is breathtaking, but I'm trying to catch up with this lady; an author. Later, she and I are inside a mall or someplace. She's autographing a couple of books after looking at some soaps. She shouts a question at me from her seat, asking if I'd realized that my story is a little similar to hers. She hadn't read all of my story yet... she read it without my permission I think... but for some reason I was glad to hear her say that. I told her it was "confidence building."
She and I are about to leave when the saleslady beckons her to look at some soaps again. They were the same soaps she'd looked at earlier, but walked away from. I remember thinking at the time that she was crazy for passing them over. So, she goes back to that counter to check them out. She keeps dropping one of the soaps on the floor inside some water. It's pink, heart-shaped soap. When I finally lift it out of the water myself, I see that on the soap are the words "Remember Me."

The author and I look at one another. Her expression told me that she believed it a sign to me from Patrick. I, on the other hand, just held the soap in my palm while telling her that surely it was nothing. No message at all, and that she was reading too much into it.
All I can think of in interpreting this is that soap = cleansing, and water = emotions.

Twin Flames

The other morning, when I woke up I had a sentence in my head. It was about twin flames. I don’t know what to think of this. I dream about writing in my sleep all the time, and the book I finished just a few days later ("Come Back To Me") is about twin flames, so… I don’t know. All I do know is that it immediately had me thinking of Jamie in the Outlander books, and that this sentence running through my head was eloquent. Being half-asleep I only caught the tail end of it and I didn’t write it down.
I think this might have been nothing, but the eloquence of the sentence is what makes me wonder.

First Leonidas Dream:

Dreamt about King Leonidas last night! (Which was AWESOME, as I never dream about the G-man). It was a little weird. Gerry/Leonidas had just finished kicking some serious butt for hours when he finally meets up with me. He’s about to go down the cliff to the beach below to fight the ultimate bad dude. He and I were taking forever saying our goodbyes to each other. I remember thinking/hoping that the longer his opponent has to wait, maybe he’ll get bored and would leave… Lol!… sparing Leonidas. Well, Leo and I were hugging each other like mad and looking deep into each other’s eyes, knowing it’d likely be the last time we ever see one another. We kept telling each other over and over again that we loved each other. I mean, in this dream we were hopeless. Hopelessly in love that is. I remember looking very deeply into his eyes at one point, and him just staring right back at me. It was like his eyes were communicating a silent message to me. Like he was communicating telepathically, as the words didn’t have to be said to be felt.
Second Leonidas Dream:

I was speaking to my niece, and in the distance was an old television set. Green countryside was surrounding us. Leo was on the tv, and it was like a live feed coming in. He was going on about “Chrissy” and a rabbit. Lol! When I replied to him, “Who’s Chrissy?” and that I’d never known a Chrissy… he just about rolled his eyes in amazement that I didn’t remember. He told me (telepathically I think) that “Chrissy” was a pet rabbit of mine. A light brown rabbit. He was really annoyed and frustrated with me for not remembering. After he showed his surprise that I didn’t know what he was talking about, I turned toward my niece to explain. I explained to her that he can’t understand why I don’t remember anything about that past life, and that he’s expressed this surprise/frustration before.
By the way, I find it a little odd that in that dream I had a few months ago there was a brown rabbit that came up to me on the street.
Also, I just remembered how I bought these cute little rabbit trinkets at Hobby Lobby years ago. (This was years before the rabbit stuff started coming up with him). Well, I think I named one of them “Chrissy.” I’m not 100% positive of that b/c this was years ago, but I do think I named one of them “Chrissy.” I bought 3 of them, and I do remember naming the rabbit that’s leaping in the grass something like “Jaq?” And the one sitting down, holding its foot, “Chrissy.”

Don't Forget:

I won’t go into detail as it didn’t all make sense, but in this dream my sister was telling me that Patrick greeted her on The Other Side. She also smiled, and then told me that Patrick told her that he and myself “never want to forget each other.” (I later realized this echoes that dream and those possible signs from a few weeks ago).
He also mentioned 3 female’s names, but I can’t recall what they were. All I remember is seeing a young woman (no older than 30 maybe?) with dark hair and wearing a long white nightgown/shift of some sort.

My sister/Ireland
I was speaking to my sister at the kitchen table, and she was telling me about Patrick. (In every dream I’ve had about my sister, she’s telling me little things about Patrick; details). Anyway, it’s all a blur but the gist of the dream was that my sister was going on about the Irish, and all during her discourse with me she kept slipping into a foreign accent. It was English or Irish, but as she was speaking to me she had no idea that that was what she was doing. She was just jabbering like crazy, oblivious to the accent taking over her speech. The only other thing I vaguely recall from this dream is a man in a long green robe? I think he had red hair and a long red beard? (Not really sure at all about the red hair/beard).

Ouch!
June 25, 2007

Last night I dreamed I was in the kitchen and got burned. It was my left wrist. Dad was talking to me while I searched for some Burn-Relief pack in the cabinet. After a little while I decided I might not need the pack b/c – miraculously – the pain was going away when before it hurt like the dickens.
Well… all day today Mom was making plum jelly. Dad was actually home early for a change and Mom got burned on her left wrist. And after a couple minutes she told me how shocked she was that it was actually feeling better so quickly.
I just wonder why in the dream it was I that burned though? Trying to ‘take a hit’ for Mom maybe?

Babies & Books & Ice Cream

In the beginning of the dream I was devouring HUGE HUGE HUGE wafer bowls of ice cream with a couple of people. (I think my nephew was one of them and maybe my niece). The ice cream was Cookies and Cream, etc. All different kinds. Now… in my waking life I don’t have a sweet tooth at all, yet in this dream I couldn’t get enough of it. I also remember being really careful not to let the ice cream drip out of the sides of the bowls.
Then I realize that a table next to me is dirty. I wanted to clean it up, but there was a baby carrier perched on the edge of it. I was adamant about wiping down that table, but knew that in doing so I had to be very careful so the baby in the carrier wouldn’t be knocked off.
So I start wiping down this table when… oops, the carrier falls to the floor. I feel really bad, of course, but am surprised when I see that TWO newborns have fallen out of this carrier. They were twin boys wearing pale blue.
The first baby I hand over to its owners, who are sitting on a bench against the wall behind me. They’re two women who are just chatting away. I’m relieved that the baby isn’t harmed and that the parents/owners aren’t upset with me. But at the same time I was flabbergasted that they weren’t upset about the two babies possibly getting hurt.
I then go back to the second baby that’s still lying on the floor in a tangle of blankets. It’s still asleep, but is slowly waking up. I finally lie down on the floor next to him, soothing him. I’m hoping like crazy that he won’t hate me and start screaming. I know that if he does, it’s because it’s all MY fault that the carrier crashed with him in it. That it never would have happened if I had just left the carrier there and not taken a chance at hurting him by cleaning that table off. After a few minutes of soothing the child by rubbing the crown of his head and talking sweetly to him, the baby starts to smile.
Here’s my interpretation of the dream:

I still haven’t a clue as to what the ice cream meant. Something about indulgence, I guess.
But I think the overwhelming desire to clean up that table represented my obsession with editing my first book. I want to "clean it up" and make it right. Polish it until it shines.
The twins represent my first two books. (I always call my stories, "my babies"). The first one is the one I can’t seem to stop editing, and the second one is the sequel that I’m almost done writing right now. And it makes total sense to me that the babies were twins, as these two books involve the same characters and one book is simply just a sequel to the other. They are in essence the same story/place. And since I haven’t yet come up with a working title for the second book, I’ve given it the same name as the first one, only I’ve added "the sequel" to the end of the title.
The carrier probably represents my sending my books to agents. My stories really are like my children/babies, and the carrier could represent carting off my babies to those agents. I also think the carrier being perched right there at the edge is depicting how close my stories are to being sent out and finding an interested agent. (Hopefully).
I even think the people I handed the first baby to, that were just waiting there on that bench, represent the agents/publishing houses. I was giving "my baby" to them, and I remember being a bit upset that they weren’t as worried about the children as I was. (And it really would be like that when an agent/publishing house is interested in my stories. They will never become attached to them and have an emotional bond with them as I do).
And my Mom brought this to my attention: A baby carrier is much like a baby CARRIAGE, and the working title of my first book was CARRIAGE Lane. (I've since changed it of course).

Here's a reply from someone whom I consider a dream EXPERT. She is absolutely wonderful at dream interpretation!
Kristin,
This is fantastic! Not only the details of the recall of your dream, but the insights!
You said you don't normally have a sweet tooth but you are devouring ice cream inside the bowl (nothing outside the box, er bowl, right?) This reminds me of your hunger for an agent who likes your work and wants to represent you---sweetness would be good news and ice cream is nurturing. Ice cream is often associated more with children than adults, so this could be you querying agents in YA now.
I think the editing analogy to the urge to wipe the table clean is right on! You don't want to disturb the books (baby) by being so neat and tidy, but you just can't control your impulse. Sure enough, the books are out of your control anyway. You worry for their safety. It reminds me that no matter how much you edit, the final edit will not be in your control anyway. It's better to leave it intact. You know that the publishers are not going to have the same feelings you do about the content. Some of it might be expendable, according to their expertise.
The fact that you coddled the second baby (book) and made it smile (you know it is publishable) is a good omen!

May 22, 2007

Last night I was looking at Scotland pictures on someone’s MySpace Page again. (We had been emailing each other about a pic I made of GB/Scotland). One of the pics I looked at was an old one I had found a while back and saved to the computer. It’s the picture above of the cabin inside a field of flowers.
In my dream this morning I saw that exact picture, and heard a man’s voice. It said something like – “Don’t forget me in my time or in your modern time.” (Or... he might have said "Don't forget me in my world or in your modern world." I really think the first is correct though).

Forgot to mention this dream:
The main gist of it was seeing Patrick's eyes. They were a beautiful crystal blue color.

4-7-07
Forgot about this dream. It’s no biggie – hence why I forgot – but if Patrick is involved I write it down:
My sister was asking about the book that I just started writing. She asked if Iain in my story was Patrick. I told her the story is inspired by and loosely based on Patrick, but that Iain isn’t really him. I then told her I have to keep the option open that Patrick could be for her or Mom and not me. After I told my sister this, she just rolled her eyes at me like I was an idiot.

A bunny rabbit, music box & a stranger

While in Austin I had a strange/confusing dream. Mom and I were in the city. We decided to eat our lunch on the sidewalk. I was talking to Mom when a sweet little brown bunny comes up to me. It wasn’t at all skittish of me. I was petting it, and while speaking to Mom I realized she was holding my Phantom music box that I got for Christmas. (Note: I’m speaking of my present from Patrick, which as Mom passed that storefront she heard a male voice say – “Stop! Phantom!”) So Mom is holding the music box when I’m aware of a man sitting a few feet away from us. He was wearing brown slacks and a brown plaid shirt. I think he had a backpack next to him, and his hair was straight sandy brown and sort of long; above his shoulders. He was watching and listening to us talk, but not really intruding on our privacy.
Ignoring the man, I start to tell Mom that I received an evp the other day that sounded like “Broch Tuaroch.” (Note: I really did get an evp a couple days before which sounded like that. Not sure that’s what it was, but it did sound like it). But then I noticed that there was a sticker on the back of the music box which read, “Broch Tuaroch.” I was so incredibly freaked out. I could not for the life of me even get the words out of my mouth to tell Mom about the evp and what I had just read on that sticker. My throat was tight with emotion and I started balling. I mean I was just emotionally overwhelmed at this point. So overwhelmed that I didn’t really even care that the man sitting a few feet from us could hear and see my crying out of nowhere. After I told Mom about why I was crying, the dream switched gears and turned really stupid – as most dreams are. I started dreaming about Joel and Maggie - (yep, there's "Margaret" again) - from the old tv series, Northern Exposure.
But I’m thinking the man in the dream was Patrick. (I say this b/c the man in the dream reminded me of Dr. MacNeill. He didn’t look exactly like him this time, but he did dress like him and his hair was the same color. His hair was straight and the same length as Patrick’s, too, but not blonde). And this is probably too much thinking on my part, but maybe the man in the dream (Patrick) wore a PLAID shirt on purpose.
Like the plaid of a tartan. I’m also wondering if this man was Patrick because of the rabbit.
(Note: Nat did that reading a while back where Patrick mentioned all those rabbits from our PL, and just a day or two before this dream I came across some Scotland pictures which I saved. My 2 favorites were of a field of purple heather, and a brown rabbit.

Also, about a month ago I had a strange dream where I was standing inside a deep pit with a white sheet covering it. In other words, I was inside this sort of makeshift tent, and I was eye-level with the ground. In this dream I was seeing lots of things related to Easter, including a brown bunny).
The realist in me says I dreamt about the brown rabbit b/c of the picture I saved, but another part of me says that if the man in my dream was Patrick… then it’s only natural to assume that the bunny was a message from him as well. The next day I looked up “Broch Tuaroch” on the computer. I couldn’t find a translation for it though. I knew it was in the Outlander books, but that’s it. I found out it was a fancy name for Lallybroch, Jamie’s home in Scotland. (I’d forgotten that Lallybroch’s other name was “Broch Turaoch.” Before doing research on the name I just assumed it was a name of one of the castles in the Outlander books).
But if this dream was a visitation, I’m completely clueless as to its meaning.

The Phantom!
1-16-07

Strange dream last night. I was attending some university. There was this one area with two small windows to a "hidden" room where THE PHANTOM lived. This room was circular in it's architecture, and one section of the wall was gray. I remember seeing a lot of leather-bound books and a lit candle.
No one at the school had ever seen The Phantom personally, but I had. (I remember thinking that some people believed he was just a legend; perhaps not even real and just made up). Sounds weird, but I think he was helping me with genealogy or that that was his expertise. Whatever he was, he was very mysterious and I didn't want people to see how curious and obsessed I was with him. I even remember trying to take a brave peek through the windows to his quarters, only to freak out when I saw all the students milling around me. I then rushed to the elevator, where a police officer was standing.

Darth Vader
Apr. 18, 2005

DV never spoke. I was just terrified of him, especially of his silence. I was in some small room with lots of people. We were locked in, and I was dogged on trying to escape. The others weren’t b/c they knew they’d be caught. While I was trying to break the window, I saw Darth Vader walk past on the other side. We were all hiding behind some reddish-orange colored curtain in the room. Next thing I know we are in a large room now, which is filled with tons of people. Everyone is sitting down, and the room is like theatre seating. (The rows of seats wrap around in a circle around the room. The chairs are a light, grayish-blue color). Darth Vader is accusing people of something. Betraying him somehow, behind his back. He had us all hold out our hands, palms facing upward. Somehow, he knew if we had betrayed him by examining our palms. I saw him do something to this one man’s wrist and the man died. During all this, one guy next to me was speaking to me, excited about the idea of going against Vader like others have. He kept asking me if the price they paid was only $2.00 Lol! He was very excited about the whole idea, despite the fact that Vader had just killed one of those men that betrayed him. Then I think Vader left before he got to us, and on the way out of the room people were telling me I was being crazy b/c it’s all just acting.
I would later learn that the betrayal business with Vader was a precognitive dream. I also discovered the next evening that tickets for the midnight showing of Star Wars were finally on sale. More clicked after that.... such as the dream having theatre seating.

MY NEPHEW

I had the strangest dream about my nephew. The kids were spending the night here, and we were all sleeping upstairs in the game room. It was the middle of the night and he woke me up. It was dark and only the tv was still on. He told me to listen carefully to what he was about to say. He told me not to laugh at what he was about to tell me, and that this was very serious. He then endeavored to tell me… in the manner of a boy much older than he is right now…. that he was going to meet this girl someday and that when he gets older I had to see to it that he marries her. He said he had just had a dream about her and felt like she was in the room with him. (Like astral travel. I think he actually said he felt "her soul" in the room with us). I cannot even begin to express how adamant he was about me seeing to it that he marries this girl one day. It was as if marrying this girl… the love of his life by the way he was talking… was a matter of life and death.
That has got to be the strangest dream I’ve ever had. My nephew is only 10 years old right now, so why would I have a dream like this?

Grandfather
I have no idea when I had this dream, but it was several years ago. I had this dream 2 or 3 days before I won $1,000 on the radio. (I never knew my grandfather - Mom's Dad - since he died when I was a baby, but I did ask that he please help me win the money. I've won the same amount twice now, so I don't know if he ever helped me or if the timing of this dream with that was just coincidence. Although... I did have another dream about the lotto where he was kind of present).
Anyway, in this dream I was inside a room with Mom when we both heard her Dad's voice. He immediately answered my questions and I think he laughed once. The entire dream was just hearing his voice. I never once saw him.
He stopped talking when some woman and her kids walked into the room. The woman wore a brown fur coat which was really fancy.
The problem here is I don't know what questions I asked or what his answers were. All I remember is hearing his voice coming from the right-hand side of the room, up near the ceiling. Mom was a little afraid, but I was overjoyed!

Fireworks
I’ve been dreaming about fireworks lately. In my last dream I was in Mom’s room, only it was upstairs and it had windows like we have in our living room. I vaguely remember Dad talking about a ghost touching him, and something about Elvis? On our big screen tv was the new Pirates of the Carribean trailer.
So I looked out the windows and I could see fireworks. When they burst in the sky I could see lots of stars. ONLY when the fireworks are bursting do I see all those stars in the night sky.

A Ghost and My Book
Nov 24 2006

I dreamed that Mom and I were sitting on my bed. Mom had one of my stories (in it’s binder) opened in her lap. We were just talking when all of a sudden a wide chunk of my story just lifted up on it’s own and froze. It was exactly as if someone just flipped the book open to a section and then paused in midair. The pages just stood halfway open, as if an invisible hand was holding it up.
Well it freaked me out so much that I ran from the room posthaste. The moment I turned my head to flee, I caught a glimpse of a ghostly leg running off. Whoever it was wore strange, old-fashioned black shoes; boots with a silver buckle I think. I also saw black tights/hose I believe. Anyway, I ran into the living room to tell my sister-in-law what had happened. She was sitting on the couch, in the dark. In the back of my mind I thought she was there b/c she wanted some alone time. I didn’t want to bother her, so after relating my fright I left. I was still really, really freaked out though. I even remember thinking to myself in the dream that I was wrong… that if Patrick ever showed himself to me again, I’d have the same instinctive reaction to flee.
The fear of Patrick showing himself to me again is self-explanatory. But what I don’t understand is the ghostly hand on my story, or the ghost fleeing from my room like the wind. What the heck could that mean?
Here's someone's interpretation:
What first comes to mind for me is "What is written on that page?" The message may be to "Take a page from your own book." It's You giving yourself advice.
You have decided to take certain actions when certain scenarios show up in your dreams. This played itself out and you were true to form. You could experiment with writing yourself a different plan of action and decide to do something different next time. It's your dream to do with as you please.
I think your dreams are very interesting.
Another interpretation -
Writer's block? Maybe there is one chapter in your book or in your waking life that is "suspended" for reasons that are a mystery (ghost) to you? You are aware of it, as it stands out in your mind. Perhaps the ghost fleeing from you is a new character you have only partly developed in your mind? Whatever it is, it scares you right now.
Make a suggestion before sleep to confront the ghost and feel at ease with it. Maybe it will show up as a real person or character instead of a ghost. Remember that you can change the form of all your characters in your dreams just by wanting to see them in a different light. You are the writer, the director, and the producer of all your dreams. Lights! Camera! Action! Let's see what's in the next scene....

Ghost Lady / Empath
I might have already copy/pasted this dream in the Patrick Dreams section/Part 2? I saw this woman walking around a swimming pool. She was very distressed and moaning and crying because she had lost her children. As I was watching her, I knew she was a ghost.
Later, I see her again only this time she looks different and is cheerful. She walks up to me, and I notice that she looks very real. Not ghostlike at all. I’m not even sure she realized she was dead. She talks to me and once she places both her hands on my arms, I shove them away. I did that b/c I was freaking out over a ghost touching me, and because I felt an instant shock of some kind at her touch. All I remember is it felt very uncomfortable. Eventually, she leans her head in closer and says – “You’re an empath, aren’t you?!” She sounded really excited about her discovery, though I wasn’t in agreement with her.
After she’s gone, the dream gets pretty dumb. Anyone here ever seen the old tv series, Christy? Well, a Scottish doctor was in it… Dr. Neil MacNeill. After my encounter with the lady ghost, I was freaking out. I was so afraid of the possibility of other spirits being able to talk to me without warning. I told him that at the end of the day I really needed to talk to him. (By this time I was balling I was freaking out so much). The entire day passed and each time I saw him, he completely ignored me.
But what could the children possibly mean? She was really worried about them. Like she lost them and she feared they were kidnapped. That kind of thing. She was wringing her hands and pacing around the pool, crying like crazy.
Update: I've been told that that electric shock is an indication of actual contact with a ghost. In that dream it felt like the cross between an electrical impulse and your foot falling asleep. I was very uncomfortable.

All I recall is being in a gas station with my family someplace. (My parents, sister, niece and nephew). This dream was a mixture of modern day with the past. I think my sister and her kids left for someplace nearby; to a restaurant I believe; and my parents and myself were to meet them in a few minutes.
I returned outside to get my horse, but out of the blue arrived an army of civil war soldiers. The general was in front and had a reddish mustache. He and his men wore blue uniforms which were fancy and pristine. Very clean and very, very pretty. I was about to lose my temper with the general and his army b/c they were blocking my horse. I didn’t have to lose my temper though, because they moved along. They never even spoke to me.
Next thing I remember is riding my horse, but I quickly realized I was naked as a jaybird! I went inside the gas station, to a small fitting room of sorts, to decide on an outfit to wear. I chose casual blue jeans.
I can’t really remember the rest of the dream.

May (?) 2004
I was in a room with Mom, and we could hear her Dad’s voice. (In real life, I never knew my grandfather as he died when I was a baby). We’d ask him a question and he’d immediately answer.
I think he was even laughing at one point.

April 2004 Cont.
I had the strangest dream. The first part was pretty ridiculous, boring and running all over the place. I can’t even remember it now. Throughout this dream I kept coming back to this one scene.
My grandmother had a very large house and I knew she also had a beach house that was sort of a long way from the house, yet not too far. After a while I forgot where this beach house was. Finally, I saw a weathered, wooden gate and – in my mind’s eye – a flash of an old photograph appeared in front of this gate. It was just this sepia toned picture of a man dressed in a suit. I opened the gate and sure enough I saw the beach house. It was gray and the sky was very gloomy. Just yards away was the water, and right there at the shoreline was a dead polar bear. It was bleeding at its neck and tumbling in a circle each time the tide rolled in. I remember thinking that this place should be a haven for everyone to go to, yet how could it be when there’s that dead polar bear? If anyone wanted to go to the house, they’d have to first pass the polar bear.
Each time I returned to the house in hopes of having a good time, I’d stop at the gate yet again. The dead polar bear was still there, and the house and its surroundings were – yet again – very gloomy.

This next dream is a silly one that Mom had about me. She dreamt that we were in a parking lot somewhere when a man walked up to me. I looked exactly like the fictional character, Annie, from that horrid musical. I had curly, fiery red hair that was extremely short. It looked as if I were wearing a wig.
The man asked me if I’d be interested in being in a movie about Annie, which they were making. Mom laughed and said, “Of course she wouldn’t.” Yadda, yadda, yadda.
But I interrupted her and told the man, with great enthusiasm, that I would LOVE to star as Annie in his movie.
And well… this morning what was on tv but a newer version of Annie called “The Adventures of Annie” – or something like that.

Wildlife

I dreamt that my backyard was teeming with wildlife. I was looking out the window from our living room when I saw two black birds (cracklins) building a nest in our bird bath, which was now underneath the window. (Though I’m pretty sure those birds were in my dream b/c they were all over our yard yesterday).
While outside with my mother and brother’s fiancĂ©, I took notice of a white bear, and also a white wolf resting against the back fence. I was terrified of myself and our pets being attacked, so I said that I was going inside. My mom and brother’s fiancĂ© stayed outside. They weren’t fearful of these wild animals at all. On my way back to the house, I saw a huge turtle. It didn’t scare me, so I actually allowed it into the house.

The Shire

(Via)
This is a bit silly and unusual. Last night I dreamt about The Shire from Lord of the Rings.
It was just seeing the forest in the Shire. It was daytime and it was barely sprinkling. The entire dream consisted of nothing but this one scene and hearing the sounds in the forest. The birds singing, a light rain, a slight breeze. This entire dream was like one of those meditation tapes. During this dream, I remember thinking that Mom needs to experience this.

Blue Zone / Launch
My mother was in our front yard sitting in some chair (like a dentist's chair), and when she did that I knew I had to go with her. I just couldn't let her go alone 'to space' or wherever this chair was to take us.
So I hopped on the chair next to her and suddenly I felt like an astronaut would during a launch. I kept my eyes closed and could feel us traveling really fast. When I opened my eyes everything was the same as before. I was still in my front yard, but everything had a blue film over it. There were no colors except blue.

I had a dream about my niece, Mom and myself. We were sitting in the backyard. At first I was alone and saw a huge rainbow. It was the biggest, most beautiful rainbow I had ever seen.
Next, we were all outside and butterflies were flying all around the yard. My niece was sitting in my lap as I was showing her all these BIG butterflies fluttering past. They were monarchs, but much MUCH larger.
From then on, my niece is looking at the butterflies and I see Jordan Knight of all people walking around the backyard.
And that’s pretty much it… and pretty ridiculous as dreams often are.

Dream from ages ago:

Unfortunately, I can’t recall all of this dream but I do remember that it felt very uplifting. The only thing I can recall about it now is that I was visiting some ranch which had horses that could fly.
These horses had actual wings; a large wing span, like Pegasus. I think their wings were white, and while they could fly they could only fly up to a certain height.
I also seem to recall something about a moon, only it was daytime. I can’t really remember.
