I think this was a recurring dream, which I never bothered to write down until now. I think I’ve had this dream 2 or 3 times so far.
Let me first say that this is yet another space dream. I don’t know why I keep having these dreams, as never in my life have I even read a science fiction novel. Until I started having these dreams, I was never even interested in watching science fiction movies like Star Trek, etc. (Although I am a Star Wars fan).
In this dream I was inside a spaceship with a small crew. It’s really hard to describe what the ship looked like. I didn’t see it from the outside. I only saw it from the inside of the room I was in.
The shape of it was really strange. The best way I can describe it to think of the design of a seashell in that it has separate ‘chambers’ that curve this way and that. I was standing inside this room, and to my left there was a ‘work station’ so-to-speak. It had a chair and desk/switch board. Someone was sitting at it. What’s really strange is that this work station was sitting inside an alcove of sorts. (Hence my using the design of a seashell as an example). There was a large space above this alcove/work station. (Think of an elevator shaft with a desk and chair inside). My guess is that this work station was able to move to the upper stories of the ship… hence that open space above it.
To my right, and high up was another work station. It was on a higher floor, but there were no walls. I guess the best way to describe it is to think of a large curving staircase with a work station on it. Above that work station there were many, many, many more upper stories. This ship was very TALL, and near the top there were really large windows which allowed for a view of the outside. At the top pane of windows I could see the moon glowing in a sea of black.
I suppose it’s possible we could have been on Earth at night, but in my dream it felt like outer space.

November 2013

The first part of this dream was horrible, so I’ll skip to the strange part. (And I do mean s-t-r-a-n-g-e. It was like something out of the movie Avatar).
There were these fancy, graceful birds that were pretty large. They were very elegant in the way they flew, and in the wind their wings would flow like scarves. Their feathers were a peachy color.
Words can’t describe how very flowing, graceful and otherworldly these birds were!
The Quetzal, and Asian Paradise Flycatcher, reminds me of them. (I had to do research to discover that birds like this even exist).

And now the strange part: People had no idea how these birds really traveled from place to place. Unbeknownst to the world, they traveled in disguise; inside the form of a fancy flower which was in actual fact a wormhole which led to other dimensions.
See? I told ya it was weird, so I’ll try to explain.
These ‘flowers’ looked like the petals of some fancy flower you’d find in Hawaii. It looked very tropical, and to we humans we saw nothing but the flower itself, and then the stray ‘fluff’ from the flower; a lot like a dandelion, only larger. (The flower being larger).
These birds were inside the 'fluff', flying around in flocks. In other words, another dimension was inside the fluff, hidden from our view.
But all we could see was the flower, and it's fluff, floating on the wind.
7-5-15 UPDATE:
Another way to describe the underlying concept of this dream is to imagine the Tardis from Doctor Who; bigger on the inside. (I don't know why I didn't think of that before).
But now to my update...
Before going to bed last night I decided to scroll through the tv programs to see if I wanted to dvr anything. A couple weeks ago I started watching Star Trek for the first time. (The Next Generation series, with Patrick Stewart). So far, I'm not really a big fan of it but have continued watching some of the episodes when they come on anyway.
So last night I decided to go ahead and record one of the Next Generation movies set to air this morning. (It's called Insurrection). I came really close to canceling it after programming it to record, and then this morning I came close to just deleting it and not watching it at all.... but in the end I decided to just quickly fast-forward through sections of it.
Near the beginning of the movie I noticed a fancy bird that looked like the birds from my dream described above. I thought that really odd, so I decided to fast-forward a little slowly just to see if it makes a reappearance.
Which it did, and not only did I see the bird... I also saw the flower/fluff!
In this particular scene of the movie, there's a woman and Captain Picard sitting inside a garden. She touches his hand, and everything starts to slow in time. The little cascade of water starts to move in slow motion, and the woman picks up a flower and blows away the stray fluff from it. This fluff slowly glides toward the bird.
That is to say, the fancy bird that is eerily similar to the one from my dream; fancy, long tail feathers.
What are the odds of that happening? (Seeing the fancy bird AND the dandelion-like fluff).
FYI: This is the second time something like this has happened. (Dreaming about something strange, and then seeing it on a Sci-Fi series either the next day or years later).

October 21, 2013

This dream was just silly. I dreamed that my brother had a daughter, and she was a silly little thing. She had straight blonde hair and wore a dress-up princess dress which was handmade. It was very feminine with these pretty rosebuds sewn on.
Her sense of humor was really silly, albeit strange. It was Halloween, and she was afraid that her dad was going to sneak inside her bedroom while she was asleep to steal all her Halloween candy.
The Halloween candy was inside a bowl set on a little kids table in her room. She wanted to catch her father if he tried sneaking off with any of her candy loot during the night, so she had a plan.
What she did was go to bed, wearing swimming goggles of all things. She knew it’d be difficult to see if her eyes were open or closed inside the mask, so should her father start stealing her candy, he’d soon find out that she was witness to his crime.
Told ya it was silly!

September 2013

This dream was very short.
I dreamed about two characters in the first book I ever wrote. In it, “Emily” (the main character) was holding a newborn baby. Sitting next to her was her stepdaughter, “Amelia,” all grown up or at least around 19 years of age. Emily told Amelia that this was going to be the last baby she’ll ever have.
Emily felt very melancholy about that. Very sad. Sad and bittersweet.
After Emily shared her feelings about the baby, Amelia said nothing and just held her hand.
Also, even though she remained silent in the dream, Amelia’s personality - and even her appearance - felt a lot like Rebecca’s. (When writing the first book of the series, “Rebecca” was undoubtedly the most vocal of my characters. She was a hoot to listen to and from the very beginning she came to me as a fully formed, fleshed out character).

Two Dreams – 2012 and 2013

Until now, I never wrote these dreams down because they were so strange and difficult to explain.
Or even comprehend.
First Dream:
I was walking outside, at night, in the neighborhood my grandmother used to live in when I was little. (My house was only blocks away from hers. I practically lived at Grandma’s house on the weekends).
So it was nighttime and I was strolling through the neighborhood when suddenly I see that there’s something following me. This something feels almost impossible to even explain.
The closest way I can describe it is to imagine a very square, boxy chair of sorts. Kind of like a bunch of black Legos connected in an odd shape. It sort of looked like a throne, but with odd angles. It made no noise as it floated in the air and followed me around.
And it literally followed me around, like a shadow. I was really creeped out about it, because it felt like it had intelligence. I did my best not to show how frightened I was, but with every single step I took it continued following me around. And it really was perfectly silent and hovered only a few feet from the ground.
Second Dream:
This one is even more difficult to explain than the first. I wish I had written this dream down after I had it, but I just could not find the words to convey what was going on.
Because I had NO IDEA what was going on. Even now, I’m at a loss because - once again - the images in this dream are things I’ve never seen before and my brain literally can’t comprehend. (It’s a lot like trying to explain to a goldfish what life above the water they’re swimming in is like. To a goldfish, there is no world outside their little pond. The thought that there is one would never even enter their heads).
I’ll do my best to explain, but bear in mind that it’s taken months of thinking to unearth a description at all.
First of all, I was in outer space. There were a lot of people around. I think we were in some kind of building. No, not even a building but a ‘patio’ or observation deck. (I’ve had a dream with a deck of sorts floating in space before, and this one was either invisible or black). There wasn’t a roof over our heads or anything like that. It really was as if we were standing on some kind of platform right there in empty space, although behind me I could tell that there was a building of some sort.
All my attention, however, was focused to my right. On the right hand side from where I was standing, you could see some sort of…. grid. It was golden colored, and on this grid there were a lot of objects floating. Even while looking at it I was having trouble comprehending what I was seeing because, like I said before…. these were objects my eyes had never seen before. My brain just could not compute what I was seeing. (It would be like asking your dog to explain to you what a circle was. Impossible. A dog doesn’t have the ability to speak your language, and even if it did it’s never been taught what shapes even are).
So I was looking at this weird “grid,” or whatever it was. I tried identifying all the things floating in front of it, but couldn’t. The only thing that I could comprehend was that I ‘think’ there were planets floating in front of it…. but I had no idea if they were real planets or just images of planets; like holograms. Everything else might have been debris or… or anything. I really don’t know. I have no clue what all these objects were.
But it gets stranger, and really uncomfortable here. As I was watching everything going on to my right, I realized that if a person moves too much – or beyond a certain spot – their body starts to pitch forward. Their body, and the “floor” they’re standing on starts to go all topsy-turvy. Everything starts to move and doesn’t stand still. It was a horrible, out of control feeling. It was as if gravity was trying to pull you in. If you took even one tiny step outside a certain zone, the gravity takes over and you get pulled in.
What’s strange to me about this is that I’ve had several space dreams over the years with the same theme. Well, almost. This particular dream was a little different, but close enough. (In those other dreams, every time I’d close my eyes I could feel myself flying like the speed of light. It, too, was a very uncomfortable out of control feeling. Only, in the split second that you open your eyes again, everything around you is still and perfectly normal. Once you open your eyes, you’re in control again but once you close them…. it’s like some automatic pilot takes over. Words can’t describe how fast I’m talking about here. I’m talking something like the speed of light itself).

Oh, Dear....
I had this dream back in March of 2012. I decided to post it here because it's just too ridiculous.
I was trying to find a bathroom that was more private, and get this... I was flippin' DORIS DAY, and also in the dream was John Wayne, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra.
Wuh-huh?
I don't even want this one analyzed.
