2011 Dreams Continued

Unexpected Caller
11-25-11

themoon

So here it is the day after Thanksgiving. Last night, as I was first trying to fall asleep after an exhausting day of putting up the Christmas tree, I had an image in my mind of my cell phone. Across the little caller screen was an incoming call. It read, in bold/white/capital letters, the name PATRICK.

I immediately ignored it, but this morning I'm second guessing that.

I don't know whether to take it seriously or not because it's been a l-o-n-g time since I've even had any Patrick dreams.

UPDATE: I just remembered that before going to bed I checked my cell phone. I was surprised I had missed a text from my niece the day before, telling me she was about to see the new Muppet movie. I tried falling asleep something like half an hour after checking my phone, so that probably explains it.

Ignoring it
(Yet Another Vision/Flash)

11-17-11

EllaQuaint

I am definitely going to ignore all this strangeness b/c it happened again. This time it was very quick, and didn't feel as 'profound' as the previous one's so I'm taking it a lot less seriously.

Last night it was seeing what looked like a caricature of a person. It looked like an illustration in some children's book. I saw a king sitting on this thin, tall throne. It was gold with a red cushion, and the king's robe was red. (Typical kingly attire). I saw his profile, as I only saw his left side. His hair was almost orange, and he wore a typical crown. He had wrinkles on his face and was very slim. He looked unhappy and emaciated actually, although that could just be because he looked like a caricature of himself.

I refuse to take this seriously. I'm not gonna be suckered in that easily. Sometimes these things really are nothing at all.

Is this a joke?
11-15-11

Okay, I give up. I don't know what to think about this. This post will have two very strange happenings, from last night and then this morning.

1). Last night, at around 11:55 pm it happened again. You got it... a flash in my mind's eye of a person from the past.

I couldn't sleep, so I decided to peruse some of my old stories. After a couple hours, I went to bed. I told myself I needed to just give up on the writing.

A few minutes later, in my mind's eye I see what looks like an oil painting of a man. (No frame by the way. I was only seeing the actual picture as if it were a real scene). There was no question that it looked like an oil painting. The colors were vivid brown's and black's (if that makes sense). It truly looked like something you would find in an art gallery. All of a sudden, this oil painting comes to life because the man starts shaking his head. He shakes it from side-to-side, slowly. He didn't feel familiar at all, just like the last 'flash' that I wrote about in my previous post below.

This is what he looked like: I only saw him from the torso up. Man in his late 50's or 60's. Chubby cheeks. (He actually had rosy cheeks, only they were rosy nearer the bottom). He had curly, thin white hair. Either it was long hair hanging over his back, or it just rested on his shoulders. His hair looked very soft and the curls weren't like corkscrew or anything. They were just natural, very soft looking curls. His hair was a bright white. It was actually kinda pretty. (He might have been wearing some sort of black cap which was a little flat, but I don't know for sure. That section of the 'painting' was darker). His outfit was black and white. The collar was some kind of white lace with these little 'triangles' in the design. There were these kind of large buttons running down the length of his thick coat. They were round black buttons with a little bit of white circling the buttons.

I could see that he was standing inside a dark room with probably just one candle lit. Behind him I could barely make out a rich, reddish brown wood on a low ceiling. It looked a little fibrous. (Can't think of any other way to describe it).

Honestly, he reminded me of the Quaker Oats guy or someone like Benjamin Franklin. Lol! That definitely seemed to be the correct era.

2). Okay, this next experience happened to Mom this morning. She was letting the dogs outside when upstairs she heard me call for her in my room. She said there was no denying that it was my voice she heard. She heard my voice say, "Mom!" Then there was a pause, followed by "Help me!"

She's worried now, so she goes upstairs only to find me sleeping.

She keeps telling me over and over that it was definitely MY VOICE she heard. (I've heard the same voice before, in my room and on evp in the past).

The weird thing is that when she said she had heard this, I clearly remember not being asleep. I had my eyes closed, so I can see why she thought I was sleeping, but at that time I was preparing myself to get up.

And just FYI, I don't talk in my sleep so that can't be it. Besides, she was downstairs and what she heard was shouting.

Another Flash?
10-30-11

So here I was trying (unsuccessfully) to fall asleep when I get a quick flash of a person in my mind's eye. Like before, it was an image of a person from the past.

This time it was a teenage boy. He was probably around 18 or so. He had reddish brown hair. It was straight, but combed over to the left side. His hair was really shiny, too.

I think he was sitting outside, on a log or something, looking very introspective and pleasant. (He was sort of looking down, staring off into nowhere and daydreaming). He wore baggy white pants that buttoned at the knees. He gave me the impression of being a pretty happy kid. Very optimistic.

I also keep thinking of the color yellow. (Maybe I'm just thinking of yellow because that matched his sunny disposition? I don't recall that color being anywhere on his clothes).

It probably was nothing, but things like this don't happen to me often so I felt like I had to write it down.

Naval Officer?
8-29-11

de35ae5979

This wasn't a dream, but I'm trying to remain open minded about this, hence typing it up here.

All of yesterday I had a monster migraine. I went to bed for a little while, hoping to get rid of it. Twice, I heard music in my room. This wasn't inside my head or anything like that either. I heard it physically with my ears. The first time it was soft piano music, and 30 minutes to an hour later it was epic, orchestral music.

I like to look for the logical explanation first, so I'll concede that perhaps my floor fan was just picking up on radio waves from the tv downstairs. (Mom's bedroom door was shut - has to be to keep the cats separated these days - and hers was the only television on, but I have heard my floor fan pick up signals before).

Okay, then fast forward to last night. My headache left for about an hour and a half, but come bedtime it returned with gusto. Amidst trying to just sleep off this migraine, yet being wide awake and not even tired, I had the image of a man suddenly flash before my eyes.

I know that a lot of people see flashes of people - usually gruesome looking - sometimes while trying to fall asleep. They're just images that come and go really quickly, morphing one into the other inside all that blackness as your eyes are closed. I get this off and on, and I've gotten really good at ignoring it.

But last night it was like that, except that the image stayed longer and it wasn't scary looking. It wasn't anything very vivid, but it was so perfectly defined and detailed that it really caught my attention.

I saw a man - definitely not of our time period - with gray hair. (It kind of reminded me of my grandfather's hair, had he ever grown it out). It was fashioned in some strange way. It was really wavy, but it was controlled into bigger waves and tucked in perfectly neat sections flushed against his face. He had a very deep cleft in his chin, and his skin sort of puffed out on either side. (This dimple/cleft was very deep). His cheeks were a little like that, too, but he had an angular face. He had to have been in his 50's I suppose. He had a black eye patch on his right eye and was VERY GROOMED and austere looking. We're talking not a wrinkle or piece of lint on his clothes. I received the feeling that appearance was very crucial with this man. I only saw him from the shoulders up, so what I did see was that he wore a military jacket of some kind. My first instinct however was naval officer. It was black, or maybe even a DARK blue that just looked black. This jacket also had a very narrow white stripe along the shoulders. I think there was more material set on top the shoulders, and surrounding that was the line of white on either side. I'm not positive, but there might have been gold buttons on the top of each shoulder. I am really not sure about that though, as now I just cannot remember for certain.

This will sound crazy, but the very first second I saw that face I thought he was Patrick's father. (Which would be impossible if there were buttons on that uniform, as buttons weren't even around then. Of course, maybe Patrick is from a much later time period than the 1500's... but I really don't believe that's the case). I couldn't help but see a resemblance there. It didn't look like Patrick really, but there was a 'something' there - shape of the face I guess - that seemed like him.

So while this guy was not frightening to look at physically, I received the impression that this man was not kind. He was extremely cold and heartless. He wasted no energy on emotions. The entire time I saw him he was just stone faced, looking straight ahead. I would doubt that this man had smiled even once in his lifetime. His appearance was perfect, clean and groomed, yet his energy was not welcoming in the least.

Grandma
August 2011

cndl140

I had a dream about Grandma the other night, and I received the feeling that I had had the same dream earlier this week but forgot about it upon waking.

We were surrounded by pitch blackness. All I saw was a little square fold out table with a lot of lit candles scattered on top. The candles were orange and were just sitting inside these small glass jars.

At the time I thought that perhaps my grandfather was sitting next to her on her right hand side, but I didn't think much about that.

In this dream she was telling me - and I think my mother and sister were with me - that she loves us. Over and over again it's all she was telling me; that she loves us all so much, and wants us to know this.

Baby/Butterfly

bfy130

Had a strange dream two nights ago. I dreamed my brother and SIL had a baby girl. She reminded me a lot of my niece when she was little.

This baby was lying on her tummy, and a black butterfly landed on her back. It just kept 'dancing' between her shoulder blades, and this little girl was laughing so hard. It was really cute. She was cracking up, and moving around so much that my SIL was worried the baby was going to squish the butterfly so she managed to rescue it. This was one very happy baby, too.

I don't know why I had this dream, as both my brother and SIL have made it clear that they don't want to have children.

Kitty Rescue
May 2011

One of my dreams from the other night was being inside a house, and I hear a wild boar coming inside one of the rooms. I shut the bathroom door, but first I usher some baby kittens inside the room with me.

The door is also blocked with some kind of metal rack/shelving on wheels, but these little kittens keep trying to slide beneath the door to where this wild boar is. I am completely freaking out because I know they'd be killed, but they were just too curious. I know that one orange kitty escaped, and it was hurt. It was lying on a pillow on the floor.

It was in shock more than anything, and I felt like it was going to be okay after a while but still... not a nice dream because I did see that this poor cat was injured. It had a cut on it's chest.

I have dreams like this a lot. I'm always dreaming about animals, and most of the time I'm rescuing them.

lineoldfashion

Laboratory / Alien

alien

(I had this dream years ago. I'm only typing it up in this 2011 post since the html is messing up in the other entries)

I was with family I think, inside some pet store. It was a sunny day out, and there were a few customers milling around the store. I sort of sneak towards the back area, which is detached from the store. No one is back there and it's really quiet.

It was a very long, wide, dark hallway with black (or a very dark midnight blue) floors and walls. It was like a smooth concrete. There was an iron railing in the center with some metal 'vent' on the floor. It was just a ramp or something like that, which didn't stretch down the entire hall. I think it just led downwards a bit, to where the pet store was.

Along the walls were these glass-encased windows/cubicles/cages with lights shining inside. To my right was one of these small 'windows' filled with water, and inside was an alien curled in a fetal position.

I felt such COMPASSION for it. I don't even know if it was aware that I was there, where it was, etc. All I knew was that it being trapped inside there, in such a small space, was WRONG and cruel and inhumane.

I don't know for certain, but I think I already knew that this alien was back there and I was sort of 'undercover.' Not much later, the man that runs this pet store finds me. He didn't seem too upset that I was back there, so I really don't know whether or not this alien being there was a secret or not. I just remember wanting so badly to rescue it.

2011 Dreams

And again
May 9, 2011

ArthurJohnElsley

Why do I still do this? My niece and nephew moved to Austin around 12 years ago. My niece was only 3 years old at the time, and her brother 4 or barely 5. Scouts Honor, I finally 'got over it' somewhere around 3 years ago.

And yet I guess that, subconsciously, I'm lying to myself because I had another one of those old dreams this morning.

I'm speaking of one of those dreams about the kids, where one or both of them are little children again.

In this latest dream, my nephew was probably a little younger than he is now, but still a teenager. My niece was the same age too... until I hugged her.

When I hugged her, she felt so tiny! Small boned and fragile, like a little kid. I just hugged her and hugged her, trying not to let her or her brother know that I was crying my eyes out.

Then I woke up, and surprise surprise... drowning in tears. I hate dreams like this! The feelings in them are so intense that you literally wake from the dream with tears streaming down your face.

There was one strange element in this dream though. In it, they had a brother that I had never met. He and Luke were always picking on each other, as normal siblings do, and I felt really bad that I never knew this other kid. I actually remember apologizing to him for not knowing him as I do Luke and Autumn... considering how I was a part of their lives from the time they were newborns... yet I didn't know him at all.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of these types of dreams. They do crop up on me from time to time. ALWAYS do they involve either the kids, or pets that have passed on. I guess I just repress a lot of my emotions in my daily life, so sometimes they escape in my dreams.

This is odd. A couple nights ago I came downstairs to check on one of our cats. The light woke Mom up, and after lifting the pet gate to let her inside the laundry room, I saw a huge spider. I went inside her closet, hunting for a shoe to squash it to Kingdom Come, when she told me that the second she woke up she realized she had just had a stupid dream.

It was a dream where her mother's husband gave her mother a SPIDER ring.

Lady at Desk
3-23-11

This wasn't a dream, but have you ever gone to bed - trying to go to sleep - and out of nowhere you get an image in your mind's eye?

A lot of times it's just faces morphing one into the other, but last night it was a still picture that lasted several seconds.

I saw a woman sitting at a desk. Her hair was blonde and pulled back in a low ponytail. Her hair was kinda short, parted right down the center and hanging loose against her face. Her hair was small ringlets. Very pretty. She also wore black glasses. On the desk and to her left was a small vase of flowers. That was the only thing on the desk. No clutter at all... which would be the total opposite of any desks at our house. Lol! I'm not positive anymore, but I think she wore a white dress shirt and black slacks.

I've no idea why this scene popped into my head, but from now on I'm going to type these experiences up.

Last night I had another nightmare about my little canary (Westley) that passed several years ago, and then a lot of just plain strange dreams I can only recall bits and pieces of.

In one, there were little baby chickadees everywhere! I don't know why, but we were in the garage. There was a hole at the side of our recycling bin, and they all scampered through it and to the other side. I was petrified of Wendy Kitty catching one of the little guys.

Dream #1:
♪ "A Dragon, a dragon. I swear I saw a dragon!" ♬

(Via)

Three or four nights ago I had an interesting dream. I can't recall all of it, but here's what I do remember:

I was looking up at the night sky, and I saw a pattern in the stars. Some of the stars were red and they formed the shape of a dragon. (It was sort of like looking at a Lite-Brite picture in the sky).

Here's what a dream dictionary said about dragons:

"In the eastern cultures, dragons are seen as spiritual creatures symbolizing good luck and fortune."

What I find interesting is that someone informed me that there is an actual dragon constellation! It's called Draco. Neat, huh?

I was also told that red is a power color.

Dream #2:
Who you calling old?!
josephinewall

Two nights ago I had the silliest dream. (Well, not 'Silly-ha-ha' but kinda stupid).

All that I can remember is some stranger receiving an evp on her tape recorder. In the background of this tape, I heard Patrick's voice clear as day. It was so recognizable that I didn't even have to use headphones to listen to it.

What was odd was that accompanying his voice was some soft, medieval-type music. What he said was really silly, and in my dream I was CREEPED OUT when I heard his voice! We're talking getting the chills and feeling frightened out of my mind, but after I thought hard about what he was actually saying... I calmed down because I realized it was just a stupid evp.

What he said, along with the music that was playing, was ---

"I can hardly stand it.
These lonely old hens.
I am not happy."

Okay, you can laugh now.

And I kind of hope this was just a stupid dream I concocted myself because come on... lonely OLD hens? OLD?! OLD?! Thanks a lot.

But I can forgive being called a "hen," and that one word (and the music) is really the only reason I'm typing this dream up at all; seeing how that was a common term back then for a young lady.

As found in the dictionary online:
"dialect (Scot) a term of address (often affectionate), used to women & girls."

If this wasn't just some random dream, I can only assume he's speaking about Mom and I. It is just the two of us living here now, and we really are all alone these days. (Dad is working out of state and this week we've been incredibly busy getting the house ready to put on the market. The real estate agent came by only yesterday, and our plan is to move up to Austin where the kids and the rest of our family are).

I guess Patrick just doesn't like watching we two girls - I mean "hens" - living alone with no family around?

Or maybe this was just a random dream. I honestly don't know.

Scratch Off Tickets
2-8-11

I had another dream about scratch off tickets last night. I bought around 10 tickets, but something like 60 or 100 of them spewed out of the machine!

I was so embarrassed because people were watching, and it was an honest mistake. The machine just went crazy and I was stuck there trying to decide which tickets to take that I had actually paid for.

I didn't want everyone to see what was going on, but in the back of my mind I was thinking to just take all the tickets anyway. I mean, it was the machine that screwed up and not me. Lol!

Ghosts Again
Feb 2011

mirror-1

- Had a strange, yet disturbing dream the other night. I was with some of my family in an antique store, and my father was really ill. He felt so bad that he just laid down on the floor right there in the store. (It was some little room off to the side). He was so sick he was sweating, but at the same time he and everyone else acted like he wasn't really as sick as he was.

Next, I'm at some house with a few people. My sister and Mom were there with me, but there were also a couple of other people that I didn't really know. This place we were in was haunted.

And I mean really haunted. I've had my share of dreams about ghosts - A LOT of dreams actually - but in this one I was haunted by at least two spirits. They were not friendly, either.

What I'm about to say will sound silly, but while dreaming it... NOT SILLY! What I'm speaking of is one part of this dream where my hair (I think it was in a ponytail), and then everyone else's hair was FLOATING up from our scalps. There was some kind of electrical force with the ghosts doing it. The room was just drowning in their energy. It was very overwhelming.

Finally, I had had enough. Even though I was petrified to speak up, I started yelling at them. (I was shocked when even my sister - who has definitely communicated with spirits before - wouldn't even speak to these particular spirits). All I remember is telling them that we know they're here, but that it was time for them to move on. I told them that I didn't know if they knew it, but they were dead and had to leave and I wouldn't take no for an answer. They simply HAD to GET OUT!

I know... typical ghost stuff, but the tone of the dream was so frightening.

That's all I remember, because then I woke up. It was a really unpleasant dream. It was so unpleasant that I had the insane thought that maybe I wasn't even alone in my room just then. I even thought to myself that Dad left his K2 meter here before he moved, and if I turned it on... would it go berserk or what?

I didn't want to know the answer to that question, so I just tried my darndest to get back to sleep. Bravery when it relates to the paranormal can be overrated.

Just a funny FYI - My mom just opened the back door, not knowing it was starting to storm, so when that first BIG lightning strike came she thought someone was taking her picture. Lol!

It's too bad it wasn't Publishers Clearinghouse.

Stonehenge
1-24-11

stonehenge400
(Via)

Last night my dreams were pretty much the mundane, not-so-exciting kind. Forgettable actually, except for one part which stood out enough to write down, and which was similar to another dream I‘ve had.

What stood out in this dream was seeing Stonehenge. Yep, STONEHENGE!

I am in no way even remotely interested in Stonehenge. When I think of it, do you know what first comes to my mind? How about Chevy Chase, in "National Lampoon's European Vacation," totally wrecking the landmark with his car?

But in this dream last night I was surrounded by students - (I was probably 14 or 15 in this dream) - and being as quiet and shy as I was, I interrupted the teacher to comment on the view I was seeing outside in the distance.

Through a small opening in the room I was in (it was like a small rock building and the window was just a square hole in the wall), I saw a section of Stonehenge. It was just one of the pillars on the edge, and above it the sky was really pretty. The sun was setting, and there were some bright pink clouds above the pillar.

I told this teacher that that was the most gorgeous sight I'd ever seen in my entire life... but apparently this teacher didn't give a snit what I thought. She just continued with her lessons. (They were really stupid by the way, only I can't remember what they were about).

I looked up "Stonehenge" in the dream dictionary, and it said what I thought it would:

"To see Stonehenge in your dream, suggests that you are undergoing some spiritual enlightenment. Light has been shed on something that was once confusing. Alternatively, the dream is symbolic of a mysterious and powerful force."

Whatever the meaning, I just think it's a little odd that twice now I've dreamed of historical landmarks that had this spiritual vibe to them.

And even though the building I was in was similar to a cave, and there was no glass in that little window or even a door... it definitely felt like modern day to me. There were electric lights and everything, so it wasn't like it was a past life dream. (Which I haven't had in a loooong time).

A Little Blond Boy
Jan 11, 2011

Decluttering the house this week, I found my old High School stuff and mixed in were a couple dreams which I wrote down.

I didn't know it at the time, but now I think those dreams are Patrick-related. (It's a good thing I wrote them down because I had completely forgotten about them... which is strange because after I read them I remembered them VIVIDLY).

First Dream:

This one was dated August 9, 1994. I wrote a short description of it, then a few years later wrote a longer description because I just couldn't get it out of my head. Below, I'll type up the more detailed description.

Note: Keep in mind that oftentimes Patrick would come to me in a dream incognito. Back in those days, the only celebrity I liked was NKOTB member Jordan Knight - and yes, I find the "knight" reference pretty coincidental and kinda humorous - so I can see why he might come as him. (I think I might have one other "Jordan/Patrick" dream written down on this site as well).

But here's the dream I found earlier this week. I'm going to copy/paste it word for word -

A few years ago I had one of the most beautiful dreams, and of Jordan Knight actually. I think his clothing was all black, and he was standing near the formal living room window. We were outside in the backyard. I was away from him, probably by about 6 feet. It was a beautiful, sunny day and the wind was blowing the trees around. There were flowers everywhere, and I could see a lady bending over to pick some beneath the window. She wore a flowing white dress and large hat, similar to that needlepoint picture we had on the wall in the living room above the couch.

A little boy with blond hair (about 1 1/2 to 2 years old) was running through the yard with a bubble wand. He's in front of me, where the patio would be, and he was having so much fun!

I watched him playing with those bubbles, and then I saw Jordan just gazing at me with this little smile. I looked back at him and smiled some, too. We just stared at each other, but said nothing. We didn't have to. We were so happy and so much in love that words literally couldn't express our feelings for each other.

I had this dream before Luke (my nephew) was born... he was born 3-2-95; one year after this dream... and now that I look back on it I'm beginning to wonder if this little boy was LUKE! The boy in this dream looked EXACTLY like Luke did at that age; even down to the hair. (Luke's hair was very blond as a toddler).

EVERYTHING in this dream was so beautiful. The grass and trees were a beautiful green, and it was so quiet. All you could hear was the wind blowing through the trees. The look, and most especially the FEEL of this dream was so wonderful. It was exactly what Heaven must feel like.

And "Jordan"... (yes, the quotes are there for a reason)... and I were soul mates, for a fact, in this dream. I don't believe I will EVER feel that way about a man in my life, EVER. It was just so beautiful. It was a short dream, which felt like... well, destiny and that we were fated to be together. It was also as if he and I felt that we were married.

Second Dream:
(This one was dated November 23, 1994)

Jordan is in our living room, and I'm not really sure if he could see me. I was following him, and then I sat down.

So did he.

Later, Jordan stood up and he was carrying a little boy with light brown hair. It was the same boy as in another dream I've had before.

Third Dream:
(This dream doesn't belong to me... which makes it really STRANGE)

I came across a note from one of my friends in high school - written back in 1991 or 1992 - and in it she mentioned having a dream that she and I were pregnant at the same time. She said Jordan was in the dream, and he and I already had a child.... a little BOY that was BLOND! (And um, Jordan had very dark hair and Patrick... well, can ye say BLOND? Lol!)

I find that so incredibly weird and strangely coincidental, seeing how years later I had two dreams about the same boy. (And it's not like I remembered her telling me about her dream. My friends and I wrote each other all the time, so it was easy to forget a note from last week, let alone years before).

I don't know what the deal is with this little boy appearing in those dreams, but a THEORY is that it's relevant with Patrick somehow. I have a few theories, but that's all they are. I'm not saying I believe it's the truth. I have to be open minded and skeptical.

And this is interesting, but when my nephew was little one of his favorite things to play with was BUBBLES. I even have an aunt that used to give him and his sister bubbles whenever she saw them.

One other thing - Back in those days I wasn't even trying to figure out who Patrick was. I didn't know his name or anything. I only knew him as "that ghost" or "that knight" which I saw when I was a little girl. (He was fixing the bed covers at my feet). I knew zippo about him, so thinking he was actually Jordan (or whomever) in disguise in a dream never crossed my mind until over a decade later. Eventually, the puzzle pieces/theory just started coming together.

irish

This dream was from a few weeks ago.

I was angry with someone - my sister I think - and then suddenly I become very aware that I'm yelling with an IRISH accent.

I wasn't Irish, so of course I was really self-conscious about what was happening. The next thing I remember is forcing myself to speak normally... with my (slight?) Texas accent. ;o)

FYI - I've always wanted to have an Irish accent, and when I first started writing it was really difficult for me to write female characters without an Irish accent. (I've always found that strange, especially since it's always just the women I would hear with that particular accent).

Well, lets see... a PENGUIN was in my first dream. (Can't say I've ever dreamed about a penguin before. I dream about animals all the time though).

I read this in a dream dictionary:

To see a penguin in your dream signifies that your problems are not as serious as you may think. It serves as a reminder for you to keep your cool and remain level-headed. Alternatively, seeing a penguin in your dream suggests that you are being weighed down by your emotions or by a negative situation. You need to find some balance and inner harmony.

My second dream was also strange. The first part I can barely recall, but I remember Wendy Kitty being in it, as well as a lot of stray kittens.

We were in some backyard, and I leaned over a fence to look over the top. What I saw was some little tree or bush, and beneath it was rolling fire. I could see the flames licking the bottom of the tree and the grass. I never panicked though because the yard was a little flooded, so the fire was continuously being doused.

The dream dictionary said this:

Depending on the context of your dream, to see fire in your dream can symbolize destruction, passion, desire, illumination, purification, transformation, enlightenment, or anger. It may suggest that something old is passing and something new is entering into your life. Your thoughts and views are changing. In particular, if the fire is under control or contained in one area, then it is a metaphor of your own internal fire and inner transformation. The dream may be a metaphor for someone who is "fiery". It represents your drive, motivation, and creative energy.

Recollections / Come Back To Me

This Nonsensical dream was brought to you by Doctor Who....

I never bother writing down my dreams which are just stupid dreams, but I might change that this year.

Okay, total nonsense was this dream. I had a baby and I was still rather young; probably a senior in High School. My baby was a little girl, and she would cry when anyone other than myself held her. I was really protective of her.

I remember speaking to the father outside of a high school. He was working on something; handyman-type stuff. I was bossing him around about my cat, Wendy. I kept stressing to him, over and over again, that he had better make sure Wendy gets home safely because I'm petrified of her getting out of the building. I was just so adamant about him listening to me, because for some reason I really didn't trust him. (I think it was just because I was overprotective of Wendy. I only wanted her to be safe). I then leave, only to return seconds later to give him a kiss and apologize for being so bossy.

Now the dream gets weird... for the first time anyway, as it gets stranger every moment now. His reply was something about Scotland. He told me that not everyone is like me and is crazy about men in kilts. Lol!

Next thing I know, I'm in some hallway at school and there's this rack of what looks like greeting cards. Suddenly, the 9th doctor from Doctor Who (Christopher Eccleston) is in it. I'm not sure if he was the same man from earlier, or another guy. All I know is he was a teacher of some kind, and that I had remembered that I hadn't attended classes in a while and had no clue where they were or what time I had to go to each one. (I have that scenario in my dreams a lot. I think a lot of people have that dream).

He told me that he had changed his classes around since I'd been there last.

Again.... the dream gets weird and plain stupid yet again. There was a class of his that was named "Recollections," but he changed it. I saw the new name for this class on a greeting card of all things. It was solid black, and in white block lettering were the words "Come Back To Me." (Yes, that phrase again).

And um..... also scattered throughout this dream was an obsession of mine in waking like. Naturally, what I'm speaking of is Starbucks. (I was holding my child, and expecting someone to pick me up from school. I kept thinking that if I really hurried, I just might find the time to stop in the Starbucks for a frappuccino).

There was more in this dream, but I can't remember any of it just now. (I only hope my dream self got her Starbucks).

Animals everywhere!

The night before, my strange dream was me riding in the car with my parents. To my astonishment, all kinds of animals had just taken over all the countryside and roads.

I was so afraid of them getting run over, but they didn't seem afraid at all. They were just lazing about the middle of the road... walking across the road together... hanging out along the sides of the road. I mean, they were EVERYWHERE and there were so many of them.

2010 Dreams

Sunset and Landscape
12-17-10

sw1

I had this dream probably a month or two ago. It was really short and not much was going on since it was just seeing a scene as the sun was either setting or rising.

What I saw was a landscape lined with natural structures similar to standing stones. No manmade structures were present. The rock was orange-red in color, and they were kind of tall (but not enormous at all). They definitely felt very ANCIENT, too. There was some sort of mystical quality about them.

They looked kind of similar to the picture above.

They didn't look like that exactly, but close enough. The edges were really curvy. The coloring of them in my dream was definitely more rusty, and they weren't all quite as big.

These rock formations - minus their size - actually remind me of another dream that I had years ago.

His Back To Me

I have no idea when I had this dream; 2010 or earlier. This one I completely brushed off originally.

I don't dream of Patrick all that often, but in this dream he actually came as himself; which I had asked him to do a while back. In the dream I just walked up to him. He was wearing a fancy velvet jerkin, just like I saw him wear when I was a child, only it was royal blue this time. His back was to me and I just came up behind him and pressed my cheek to his back; sort of like a little hug. I was smiling and felt so serene and happy. VERY serene and happy... until I woke up and realized that his back was to me, as if he were shunning me. I have a few theories on that, but I’ll not babble about them here.

Those Darn Heffalumps

Had some crazy dreams last night. To anyone else they would sound silly, but to me the dreamer they were uncomfortable, stressful, and not pleasant at all. I'm really tired of hardly ever having nice dreams anymore.

Here's a quick list of just a few of them:

- Being stalked inside some grocery store. Funny thing is the stalker was the actor Dominic Monaghan. (No clue why he'd make an appearance, but believe me when I say in this dream he was one CREEPY individual).

- For no logical reason, my hair was cut a lot shorter and it was covered in bright hair dyes; purple, green, red, etc. Sounds funny, but to my dream-self it was absolutely terrifying.

- Here's a CREEPY part. I was driving on some dirt road leading towards a race track. Beneath the dirt we were driving over were all these cats. They were trapped beneath the ground, and you could see the outline of them just swarming under the wheels of the cars beneath the ground. I was trying so hard not to run over them, but at the same time I felt that these cats were doing this on purpose. They weren't friendly and thrived on playing on people's emotions. I can't even begin to express how CREEPY it was to just see the outline of a whole swarm of cats just oscillating under dirt and mud. It's like they weren't even regular cats.

- Started having a lucid dream this morning, which I never really have. What surprised me was that it was a type of dream I used to have ALL THE TIME. That is, dreams where I'm reading out loud scenes from a book I was writing.

Unfortunately, I had just begun reading the second sentence when the phone rang and jolted me out of my dream. Needless to say, I was ticked off because I hardly ever have lucid dreams, or just pleasant one's for that matter.

Birdie Visitor
10-4-10
birds
- For a nice change I actually had a good dream last night. I dreamed that me and my parents were sitting out on our land - (I'm pretty sure that's where it was) - on a sunny, beautiful day. We're watching a bird nearby, and then suddenly I notice that the bird has landed on my father's lap.

Needless to say, I am shocked but my parents aren't reacting the way I am. It just seemed normal to them, although to my thinking it was very out of the ordinary because:

1. It's a wild animal unafraid of people.
2. My father is not an animal lover.

Next, the bird flies over to me and lands on my arm. Wanting to have evidence of such an awesome moment, I get out the camera to capture it for eternity. (Duh! When am I ever not wanting to use the camera). Unfortunately, the bird was afraid of the camera so it flew off.

I keep trying to look this dream up in a dream dictionary, but so far not one of them mention what it means when a bird comes to you.

I'm really hoping this was a good omen, but deep down I think it might have just been a random dream. I only say this because yesterday I kept thinking of my little canary, Westley, that I used to have. To this day I still have nightmares about him (which is always how I grieve for my pets, and this goes on for several years), but last night was the first time that it wasn't such a bad dream. It wasn't great, but it was definitely more positive.

Oak Tree
10-2-10

tree

Had kind of a strange dream last night.

There was this HUGE oak tree, and lightning struck it. A very large chunk was taken out of the tree, and fire and sparks were shooting from it. Knowing that tree was just outside my brother’s bedroom window (at our old house actually), I ran up the stairs and was screaming his name in terror - over and over again - so that he’d wake up. I was terrified the tree was going to crash through his window, which was right next to his bed where he was sleeping.

The next thing I know, this oak which was struck by lightning wasn’t the tree outside our old house in Pearland. It was actually inside this really massive house. The house was just built around the tree, and surrounding the tree was a glass domed ceiling. The paint on the walls and trim was white.

I was really upset about the destruction of such a beautiful tree, and I kept taking pictures of it with my camera. All the time that I was either taking pictures or just walking through the house, I was terrified of it crashing down. Even turning on the ceiling fan, or when walking next to the tree, the ground felt unstable. It really felt to me like whatever mechanics was holding up that dead tree was very, very fragile.

Later on I saw my cat, Wendy, hanging onto the tree with her claws. Naturally, I was terrified of the tree crashing down with her clinging to it but fortunately I was able to safely pry her off.

At one point, I was walking next to the tree with some woman. I told her how sad I was that the tree had to be cut down now since it was dead and unsafe to be standing. But now…. inside this decaying tree, was a closet. I asked the lady if she thought it was at all possible that we could rescue the tree by just building up the walls around it to support it. I don’t remember her answer, but I think she said there was no hope of rescuing the tree.

And I almost forgot this, but earlier in the dream there were people gathered ‘round. I told them that I wanted to do something special (a tribute if you will) for this oak, but that it couldn’t be something ordinary and common like planting a new one in it’s place. I reminded them that our lives were spared by this tree still standing, despite being dead now. It could easily have fallen on us after it was struck by that lightning bolt. It’s like I understood that this oak had lived for a looong time, and now that that time was over we shouldn’t take it’s long life for granted.

But now to the end of the dream. At the end I was walking with somebody, and we both saw a little raccoon behind glass doors. It was like some storage shed or the garden section at some store. The raccoon was clearly frightened and hiding from something. I urged it to leave the room and follow me, but it took A LOT of coaxing. Finally, still frightened to death, it left it’s hiding place to come with me.

As soon as that raccoon left safety, it was attacked by a bear. And I mean it was attacked viciously. I just knew this innocent, frightened raccoon was sent to it’s death BY ME! I felt so guilty and felt so much compassion for this poor creature being attacked. I just knew it was going to die, but then out of the blue the bear gave up. It would growl, but stopped attacking. I remember the raccoon looking back at the bear, and actually fussing at it. The last thing I remember is feeling so relieved that the raccoon was going to be okay.

So ya see... once again here’s a dream I have where an innocent animal is involved. I dream about animals in distress all the time - and sometimes my niece and nephew - and I’m really growing tired of it.

I do think I know what this dream is about, by the way.

Old Man and Owl
9-26-10
bp1
I had this dream last week. I was in my old bedroom in Pearland, and inside my closet was a small door leading to the attic. (Not just in the dream, but in real life). Well, in this dream I noticed that someone left that door open. I was really angry because I was afraid of mice scurrying from the attic and into the house.

After voicing this aloud, I was a little embarrassed because I saw an old man exiting the attic. (I knew it was him that left the door open, and I didn't want him upset about my being mad at his carelessness). But while I watched this strange old man, a large owl flew towards him as he was leaving the attic. (And the man might have been carrying a lantern. I'm not positive about that though).

I have NO IDEA what this dream could possibly mean.

Had three bad dreams last night; all about innocent animals of course. (I think it's safe to say that when I do have nightmares there's either a gun involved, or animals I'm trying to rescue).

Really, it was horrible. Two of them involved other people's animals, one of which was SEVERELY neglected and just seconds away from death. It's owner was this crazy woman. She was sitting alone outside with a dog in her lap. She was crying, but just a few yards away was another dog of hers. It was a really tiny gray dog lying in the grass next to a brick wall. It was HOT outside, and I saw it trying to scoot on it's back toward this large building for help. I won't go into gruesome detail, but it was severely dehydrated with kidney failure and had had a stroke. I knew it had only seconds to live, and once inside with the dog I was trying to get a vet to help. Everyone turned their backs on it!!!!

Then I dreamed about my own sweet Wendy Kitty again. I was with my family at some wildlife place. Some of it was indoors, and some outdoors. There were all types of wild animals there, but mainly there were a lot of lions. My cat ran off, and my niece and I tried finding her. At first, we found another gray cat but it wasn't my Wendy. My sister (very unsuccessfully) tried comforting me by saying that at least Wendy died free and in nature!

Yeah, like that made me feel better. :/

Finally, I found Wendy hunched inside one of the rooms, in a little corner behind this HUGE lion. (There were other wild animals all around as well. They were all packed together in this 'pit' of sorts; like an empty swimming pool). I don't know why, but I had the feeling that this lion thought of Wendy as it's own baby. Not caring about the lion attacking me, I scooped up Wendy who was very frightened. I was thrilled that she was alive, but she had a deep scar along her face right next to her right eye. I was so upset because it was such a deep cut, but knew she was going to be okay.

And my last dream was just weird. It definitely had silly elements to it, but it was still an unpleasant dream. I was with my sister and her family, and my niece was playing with this big gray dog. A greyhound or something. (I'm sensing a theme here. All these animals last night were gray). Anyway, my niece had discovered what Acupuncture was, and she decided to try it out ON THE DOG! She placed a needle just above it's eye!

At first, the dog didn't even flinch. It wasn't affected in the slightest. But then my niece suddenly turned into this horrible kid (totally unlike her) because she slapped her hand hard against the needle! Of course, the dog was in pain now and I was LIVID. I mean I was so angry and so upset with her, and demanded that we leave my sister's house and go home this very second. Then immediately after that, I was upset with my whole family because they acted like I was nuts and overreacting. They didn't see what the big deal was, and totally brushed me off.

Eventually, my niece started crying. She said I was yelling at her because I didn't love her anymore. That hurt my feelings like mad, so now I was balling and telling her that wasn't true. I even remember telling her that I was always going to be alone, and that she and her brother had no idea how much I loved them. That when it came right down to it, they were my life.

Anyway, I've had it with these dreams!!! (And also creepy is that I woke this morning with a song from BARNEY in my head. Lol! No joke. It was that annoying library song that my niece and nephew loved when they were little. Barney the purple dinosaur is scary, no?)

Vision - 1500's?
Sept. 18, 2010
sleep
When trying to sleep the other night, I had the image of a man inside my head. He wore really old clothing; something from the 1500's or earlier. I really don't know.

His outfit was blue, and the pants gathered up at his knees. (He might have had a black belt also). He wore a blue hat with a feather in it. (The hat was just made of a soft material. I can't recall the name of this kind of hat, but it had no real shape to it. I think it was like a Tam o' Shanter).

He had short black hair, a curly black mustache (I think) and was leaning his arms on the back of a big wooden cart. He seemed Italian or French? No idea.

Father and Son
8-5-10

I believe I had this dream August 1st. I've been having strange dreams lately, but this one stuck with me the most.

It seemed pretty hokey and was short and simple. It was a lot like watching a movie on a small screen. It was just seeing a family sitting outside during a picnic of sorts. They were inside a big open field, and the trees formed a line in the distance. The people I saw were a father (he was sitting in a chair), an adult son (leaning over the father as he spoke to him), and a lady. The woman was dressed like a tavern wench or something, and was on the man's right hand side, serving him a drink from a pitcher.

I received the feeling she might not have been the man's wife, but was the mother to the other male with them. And while the guy's parents weren't married, they all considered themselves each other's real family. (As in the guy's wife had nothing to do with them. Marrying her was just politics, etc.)

There was another son as well, but he wasn't with them. (He was off rescuing some lady actually. Lol!) Anyway, the premise of the dream was just a father-son moment. The father went through his whole life, secretly thinking that his sons didn't really love him as he did them.

When I woke up from the dream, all I could recall was the son telling his father that he did have a bond with him, despite hardly ever seeing him while growing up. It's all a blur, but the father - royalty of some sort - really just considered himself an artist. The son explained how he visited places like Egypt, and while there saw some murals that his father did, and how proud he was to have seen them.

Like I said, the dream is a blur but it's been so very long since I've had any interesting dreams... (well, it was interesting to me b/c these people felt kind of real; esp the father)... that I had to type it up. Having this dream, I almost felt like a voyeur listening in on a secret conversation.

Update: This is strange, and is probably only coincidence, but I was just told that we have an ancestor (male) that had 5 children, but only two sons survived. He worked for royals, but was also an artist. So far we haven't seen that he ever visited Egypt, but there is a grave there - inside a cave in Tralee, Ireland - of an Egyptian lady of royal blood.

Not sure this is anything, but this morning I started having this dream. All I remember is sitting in a car with a man. It was dark, and I could only see our silhouettes. We were hugging each other. I felt like the guy was Patrick, but I'll never know now because...

Gerry with kids?
3-16-10

So I finally had a Gerry dream last night, and what was it? How about seeing him watching HIS KIDS doing a play for school or something.

Gerry was older - his gray hair he didn't even try covering up - and wearing a gray suit. The guy was so excited about seeing his kids that he filmed them while lying down on the actual stage. Lol!

He had either twin or triplet boys, and they all had very dark straight hair.

Spirit Voices in my Room
3-10-10

sulamithwulfing_330

I almost didn't write this one down b/c I think part of this dream is a little silly.

Last night I dreamed I was living at our old house. It was nighttime, and in my room I kept hearing spirits talking. I couldn't make out what they were saying, but I was afraid. I kept my light on and almost didn't even sleep in my room. I was so scared I actually wanted to wake my parents, but I didn't.

I hear my mother's cell phone ring. I knew it was my brother b/c the ringtone was the one Mom uses for him; the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' theme song.

I was so glad someone else in the house was awake, and next thing I know Mom - still on the phone speaking to my brother - stops outside my bedroom. She's standing by the door, and without me even telling her anything she nods and tells me that she already knows. She tells me she saw a spirit, and that he was...

Okay, be prepared to laugh at what's coming.

She told me she saw him giving me a massage and hugging me. Lol!

Yes, I know. The massage sounds silly but in my dream.... after she told me that I was petrified out of my mind. I was so frightened that my voice even sounded terrified. I told her I didn't care who they were, but that I wanted them out. I wanted them to leave me alone and never come back.

And yes, in the dream I knew this spirit was Patrick. I couldn't see him, but I knew without a doubt that's who Mom was talking about.

So here I've now had TWO dreams where I'm terrified of him; that is, this latest dream and - a long time ago - that 'tent dream' with the battle going on and he finds me hiding from him inside the tent.

In my dreams with him, either I'm madly in love with the guy or petrified out of my mind.

And I know I shouldn't be frightened, as he is a loving spirit. Seeing him when I was just a kid is proof enough. Smoothing the bedcovers at a child's feet while they supposedly slept isn't exactly a malicious gesture. And in my waking life, I'm not afraid of him.

I'm just really confused about this love him/terrified of him ordeal in my dreams.

A Wedding
2-2-10

harrisonfisher2

I've been tossing this dream to the wayside, as I'm apt to do a lot. It was a dream I had a few weeks ago. I never mentioned it before because -
1). It was a wtf dream related to something I heard the night before.

2). The obvious skepticism.

I'm not feeling well tonight, so I'll stick to the main points here:

- The night before, when trying to fall asleep I heard - and I heard this a couple times - a male voice say "gonna get married."

I ignored it, thinking either it must have just rhymed with that or my ears were trying to make sense of the sounds around me. (What "Ghost Hunters" call matrixing).

- But then arrives the dream that I had that night.

In short, I was in my upstairs bathroom. I was going to be married that day. I remember speaking to my Mom, then having her leave so I could take a bath and get ready for the wedding. In the dream I really didn't want to marry this guy... whoever the heck he was, as I received absolutely no impression of him... but kept thinking to myself that I wanted to see Patrick at least one more time. I wanted to marry HIM.

Immediately after that thought, he was in the room with me. He and I held each other, and I was terrified that he would leave at any second. I grabbed him and held on to him as if he were my lifeline. I mean, in that moment it was like he was all that mattered. I cannot stress enough how petrified I was that he would leave, but.... he didn't.

So that's why I'm finally writing this dream down; all because of THE FEELINGS. Feelings which are nothing like me in my daily life at all. What I mean is the whole "I can't live without this man" scenario.

That is soooo not like me, but in this dream - and others with him - those STRONG feelings are always there and are bombarding me full force.  (Also, he never spoke in the dream. I didn't even see his face).

Woken Up
1-30-10

bunnies300

I've been ignoring this for days now, but the other morning I was woken with the feeling that someone was tickling the bottom of my foot beneath the covers.

Then a couple days later I remembered what I was dreaming about when that happened. Only, I'm not sure it was really a dream per se. It was more like seeing an image. In my mind's eye I saw a brown rabbit standing on it's hind legs inside tall grasses. It was tall, brown grass.
